I wish people would stop blathering about Mozilla/netscape's death, and download it (or cvs) try it, and submit bug reports to the developers. Atleast that way you'll be doing something helpful. I try to make a new build atleast once or twice a week, and for the most part mozilla is running pretty well on my system (Debian Potato)
So just give it a shot, and help the developers out.
The Athlon looks like a sweet processor. I sure hope AMD survives to keep the competition with intel. This K6 300 based system I'm using now has always worked great
I hate seeing all these flame wars about which desktop environment is better. People argue that gnome is unstable, it's completely stable for me. People argue over qt's license, etc. It's just plain stupid, people will always prefer what they like best, whether it's one of these 2, or something else completely, or even a mixture of both.
I'd really like to see the gnome and kde developers get together and work on making it so that each other's apps will be able to optionally look like whichever desktop environment they are run under. ie. some kde/qt app using a gtk+ theme, or a gnome/gtk+ app using a kde/qt theme.
I wonder if there will ever be the option for the average person to go out and build their own custom PowerPC box. I've never used a power mac, but I'm intrigued by the hardware and would like to test debian ppc out, but I prefer to build my own systems.
Why is it that people have to bad mouth linux or freebsd. There's enough room for both of them to exist. I use both on my system, and they are both great OSes. So what if linux was written totally from scratch? So what if freebsd has less hardware currently?
I just installed and started using E a couple of hours ago, when first saw this story posted. I must say I'm very impressed. I'm tinkering with it, and have tried a few themes setting on Brushed Blue
I just wanted to say that the E developers have done a great job

So why are you even posting here. If you don't care about new CPUs/other computer components, why bother. You just end up making yourself look like a fool.
BTW I have a life, I work all day on non computer related stuff. I also play basketball when I have time
I'm a gnome user myself, but I have a few KDE apps that I like to use also. I think it would be great if they could share themability and whatnot. It would allow the developer to use which desktop environment he/she wants, and the user to integrate the application with his/her interface.
I don't see why there needs to be any degenerate threads. I use Debian linux myself, and tried FreeBSD once. It was different, but worked, until I messed up/bin/sh on the P60 I had it running. I never bothered to fix the problem, but I still never saw a reason to blast *BSD
So don't believe that all linux users thing *BSD sucks.
Why not support them? It can just give them that much more marketshare. I use linux exclusively, and it works as a great desktop environment for me. Gnome + Window Maker is all you need:)
I didn't prefer the new look of freshmeat at first. But the second time I looked at it it looked nice. I really think it was stupid of all the people who flamed scoop. It's not your site, so if you don't like it just SHUT UP and go away.

And if you're not willing to help, then shut up.

These are just my opinions

PS Just use what you like.
I haven't had it go down on me yet. Seems to be doing fine, I built it from CVS.
