As far as software is concerned, this "scorched earth" tactic shouldn't harm legit customers at all. After all, wouldn't they have their original CD's and serials to restore the software?
I s'pose it's possible that they may have lost their CD's and/or serial #'s, but hey, that's not the concern of the software developers.
My Sony DVD players doesn't play CD-R's, too. I was warned not to try play CD-R's for extended periods of time since the laser was hotter (or something) and could melt the CD. Sony didn't give me this warning, one of my henchmen did, so take it as you will....
This site lets you purchase things and at the same time a percentage will be skimmed off the top and given to the organization of your choosing. Alternately, direct donations can also be made.
