    No, the only way you would see the origination point of the laser is if it were pointed directly at your goggles. Otherwise you can't tell where the laser scope is situated.

    No, laser guided implies that there are lasers on the bullet that are helping to measure its location wrt it's surroundings. Instead, the laser just paints a target; it guides itself to the target. Hence, self guided.

    C'mon, let's be reasonable. A court may get things wrong, which is why we have a robust system of appeals processes and multiple overlapping jurisdictions. But you have to admit that there's a growing consensus among the courts world over that Samsung was a bad boy. The issue is not black&white, and there's no clear winner, but maybe it's time to turn down the apple is teh evilzzz! vitriol.

    I think you're projecting a little bit here. I take it you didn't have the happiest childhood.

    The fact is, many of apple's legal claims have been upheld by a multitude of courts in all sort of jurisdictions. Perhaps it's not patent trolling after all? Perhaps Samsung is the real offender here, and is getting pwned around the world because of it.

    I think at is point we can apply occham's razor.

    say what you will about bill gates and microsoft and windows, the truth is that in his post-microsoft life than nearly any other individual, and certainly more than his frenemy Steve Jobs. Talk about an ambitious agenda - cure malaria, cure aids. Big ideas that would literally help a billion people.

    this isn't about monopoly power; it's about workplace discrimination. If I apply for a job, it's illegal for the employer to deny me the job capriciously, including the fact that they have a side agreement with their competitors not to hire me.

    That's A pretty dumb analogy. Just sayin. Of course the market will decide who wins here. Company A uses a strategy to eliminate used games, while Company B uses a strategy of embracing all players. Who will win? Only the market knows! More precisely, there are probably specific segments in which Company A will win out, and specific segments in Company B will win out. So tone down the vitriol, mmkay?

    I'm not sure this is really accurate... Sure, a pie in the sky goal is to make 100 billion dollars and marry a supermodel. But in terms of realistic, achievable goals, these are what you need to be successful. So op is correct, a better goal may be to be a peer in the smartphone game rather than trying to dominate.
