On a related note, has anyone seen rc5/des benchmarks in any of the reviews? Though I've read many of the reviews, because there're so many, I haven't had time to read them all...
I know that there were some scores rumored to be about 1.6 Mk/sec, I'd prefer some verifiable numbers:).
>being a CS major, there's like 5 girls in my whole class at Va Tech...
I also go to VA Tech (majoring in CS), but the dilemma I have is that I don't think they're any girls left in my classes; there were some in previous years, but they all seem to be gone by now... Is my only recourse to take Sociology and the like?
I just checked -- it's called the "Criterion" Collection. I've also seen it listed as the "Director's Cut" elsewhere. A choice quote from the first link:
This version includes the 'excessively violent' scenes which the MPAA made Verhoeven cut in order to obtain a more marketable R rating.
Yes! That's now in my queue of DVDs-to-buy:).

Ooh, I'd love to see the NC-17 version of Robocop. I consider it to be a scifi classic, and I'd like to see the NC-17 version not simply because of the "NC-17", but because I'd like to see it as close as the director had originally intended it.
I must heartily recommend reading that review. I almost fell off my chair laughing:). Another choice quote:
...but this movie has earned the most severe CAP Influence Density (ID) of almost 200 movies: a CAP ID of 10.65! *Natural Born Killers* (R) earned a CAP Influence Density of 7.46! Most R-rated movies earn CAP IDs between 1.00 and 3.00.
I'll be graduating in May, and in the months leading up to that, I will begin my search for a "real job". My thinking is that money is only worth so much, and the work environment makes a real difference to personal satisfaction. At my current summer internship I have:
Basically no dress code
Free soda fountain
Monthly company-sponsored TGI Friday's parties with free beer and food
Are there any other perks I should look out for in an employer?
Now all we need is a distributed.net port to this thing that transfers blocks when you sync....
That was actually considered;). However, the Pilot has such intense power conservation (as one person put it "Even when it's on, it's off") that the client would kill your battery life:-/.

Yup, I'm a senior... And, they're a few girls, but most are 'taken' or unattractive :(
>Drop by the next Ass. for Women in Computing meeting, and you'll find PLENTY of upperclasswomen in CpE and CS there
Seriously? I'd feel kinda odd going there, being a guy and all ;).

You too? Scorched Earth was great, especially for its time -- it even supported that newfangled (sp?) "SVGA" :).
Is Scorched Earth still around, in any form? I don't even think a Windows version was made...

Also, since CmdrTaco mentioned it, are there any estimates for the K7's rc5 speed?

They could still sell support, a la Red Hat...

Wouldn't caffeine and alcohol kinda cancel each other out?

heh. I'm guessing that, if they really wanted to crack it with their own hardware, they could do it within a matter of minutes, if not seconds...

Eco Hack is a util that underclocks your Pilot to save batteries. However, it's shareware and I'd rather not pay for more software (just my opinion).

FWIW, the actual song title is Copa Cabana.
