    He was'nt referring to source, he was talking about, for example, gcc. Since the license prohibits the use of open-source tools, it would be illegal to compile with gcc. Doesn't this fall under fair use?

    Care to elaborate, or do you consider that to be an appropriate response? Come on, how about some specific examples of why Gnome is worse. Does it have something to do with actually being able to customize the interface instead of just changing the font and wallpaper? It must be that the OS and interface are two entirely different components so that a kernel upgrade won't force you to learn a brand new interface. Have fun with XP buddy!

    With that data, and some cool programming, they wouldn't even need to know the orientation of the plane (even if it were upside down). (However, I have a feeling that they also have instruments to measure orientation).

    Exactly, I've seen some 8-pin DIPs that sense tilt, all in the silicon. Not sure how it works, but coupled with some good code and the altitude from the GPS and I would think there would be no problem.

    Maybe if a few big companies (Like a Baby Bell?) were providing access, people'd be more inclined towards it.

    Not sure about in your area, but here in the midwest Qwest(USWest) provides DSL in most areas.

    Hold on there, if you read the article carefully, you will notice that these chips have already developed the basis of communication. Those five cells that were disconnected, but essential to the operation of the chip as a whole could be just the begining. If the chips were sensitive enough to detect small changes in the AC power, and if they could cause these chages themselves it would be possible, albeit unlikely, for these FPGAs to communicate to better do their jobs.

    And you're assuming that there is only one possible bpm value. 4/4 time only signifies that there are four quarter notes per measure. The time you assume equates to 216 bpm. This value is decided by the composer.

    The difference is that in the case of Sahara sand you can't simply push it in the right direction and wait for it to arrive. Price to mass really has little to do with it.
