Things you can try:
1) Tell your ISP that you found a better deal somewhere else. Then try to bargain the price they are charging you.
2) Strike a deal with your ISP where you advertise their hosting service - in return they slash the prices of the hosting cost.
3) Break up your site to two. Have two cheaper ISP's instead of one expensive one (sounds crazy but I've seen it done) where text is on a different server than multimedia.
4) Inform the users of the site that you can no longer keep up with the demand so you have to limit some features of your site until you receive proper funding (then of course ask for donations)
5) Call that rich uncle of yours and tell him that you're sitting on a gold mine - then ask for money:)
Parents of children who overdosed at raves can sue Pac-Man for it's influence - eating lots of pills, listening to repetitive music, and wearing happy clothing.
If microsoft wants to do away with mp3's with a 'better quality' music format then let them. If they have found a better algorithm for music compression then maybe it's time for people to come up with a better format themselves.
The RIAA and software vendors are going to do whatever they please just as long as the public buys in to their nonsense. I don't really care if mp3's are going so sound like crap on my box. By the time xp is installed on everyones machine (if that even happens) there will be some other format or method for capturing music.
Maybe Microsoft should should consider the fact that people would rather have that dumb fscking paperclip on their machine then not be able to rip their own cds and play their own music.
