These don't look entirely different from the nails I just used to attach my decking to the deck joists (at least as far as the ribbing and flat head is concerned). I'm sure these nails really are stronger, but it seems to be a fairly small evolution in nail design.
Biofeedback devices like this have been used to sucessfully treat ADHD for years.
The device just has to give the kid some kind of positive feedback when their brainwaves show that they are relaxed and alert - once they learn how to relax they can do it anytime.
Its not rocket science.

So they're reinvented QuickTime, but only for audio used for telephony applications.
Actually GStreamer supports any media type but these guys are writing a telephony application, hence they are only using a subset of its features.
