The US retired the Rainbow Series a while ago, but EAL4 is about a close approximation to C2. Nope.... The CAPP (as used in the Linux evaluations) is the C2 equivalent and it only mandates EAL3.
6.3 has Reiserfs, but not the journaling version, it came out just a tad bit too late to be included. But 6.3 has LVM, finally decent disk management on Linux!
Hi, if commercial is acceptable, check out http://www.arkeia.com/ This thing is blindingly fast and doesnt seem to have a limit on file or backup size.
The funny thing is, I can get my toaster evaluated, if I specify the right security target. If you talk about that stuff with NT advocates ask them what has really been evaluated. The no network issue should be clear for most, but I wonder what else is missing (cant access the site right now). If they did the same thing as with 3.51, the the floppy will be missing as well. Anyone wiht half a brain then should understand what this is really worth (close to nothing IMNSHO).

There is currently no way to certify Linux at EAL4, as the way it is developed will not meet the requirements for the developement environment.
And it is missing audit and ACLs if CAPP would be used as in the Win2K case as the base PP.
Hmm, I thought Notes does all those things and more...
Ok, its another proprietory beast, but they all are.

In contrast to popular belief, the source of YaST is on the CD. It is just not GPLed. For your own use you can mess with it as much as you want.

In the arrival hall A of the Munich airport, there is a large ad from Oracle asking:
Where do you want to go tomorrow?
I wonder if it is still there tomorrow morning. (I do hope so!)
My dim memory doesn't release connection,
Where does Decker say that?
