After growing up programming in the early 80's on the VIC-20, Atari 800 & C64, imagine my surprise when I started hacking the ECU in my car (240SX) to find out that it's a 6502 derivative! The Mitsubishi M7750 series is a 6502 based 8/16 bit swappable CPU with all kinds of extra goodies like hardware multipliers thrown in.
It made me smile, and grab my Programming the 6502 published by Sybex off the shelf.
Most of the PCs back then had 'graphical support' hardware. Obviously I'm not talking about the D/A converter for analog video out. What do you think VIC in VIC-20 stood for? Back then the Apple II had swappable video cards. The Atari 8-bit PCs had the ANTIC with the CTIA & GTIA chips. Hell, even the 2600 had the Stella chip for dealing with player/missile graphics.
Back in the day when I started out programming you had to rely on the hardware for functionality because there was no way the CPU could manage it.
I hate the smell of noobs in the morning, It smells like ignorance.
It's not a serial hybrid exactly, either. At highway speeds the engine is directly connected to the driveline for increased efficiency. I can only imagine how bad the highway mileage would have been if there was the 'gasoline to motion to electricity to motion' in there too. Around town it's a serial hybrid.
The scheduled summer shutdown that has been extended from two weeks to three weeks.
The current five week shutdown was not originally scheduled and was shortened by one week to four weeks.
So the Volt production will have been shutdown for five weeks 'extra' by the end of the summer.
It's just a rumor that people live in Saskatchewan.
If your acreage is visible from the highway someone on the way by might mistake your turbines for the Provincial Tree.
Ive always thought that if, as a lawmaker, you propose a law that is later found to be Unconstitutional, said lawmaker should be charged with TREASON for knowingly attempting to circumvent the Constitution
It's better then that. This is the oath of office for federal officials:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
For the state of Arizona:
I, _______do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will
support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution and laws of the State of Arizona, that I
will bear true faith and allegiance to the same and defend them against all enemies, foreign and
domestic, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of the office of
_______ according to the best of my ability, so help me God (or
so I do affirm).
So by voting for this legislation they have violated their oath of office and should be kicked out on their ass.
So if a wife calls her husband on the phone and says "I'm ovulating, come home and impregnate me!" she is guilty of violating this law.
Way to go Arizona!
If I could rent a drive cheaply a day at a time every six months or so to do major backups I'd love to use tape at home. I don't need a tape drive kicking around all the time but it would be nice to have full backups on tape for emergencies. Day to day backups go on HDDs.
If modern albums had 10db of dynamic range it would be a huge improvement, modern pop has only a couple dB of dynamic range at best. If you look at the waveforms in an editor the songs today are rectangles. Ugh.
It would be interesting to hear a Judge's take on AT&T dropping him. Saying "We broke the contract, got called to court, lost, and now will terminate the contract over that." A Judge might not let them slide no matter what the wording in the contract if AT&T broke the contract first.
Well, they can be green on the outside.

Have you ever picked up a car battery?

I'm not sure which wing is crazier Is a Catholic teacher's union left or right wing?

The best AI will turn Wikipedia into an essay on any topic. Then Google will add that AI to answer search questions and you're done.

That all the freaks live upstate?
Have any of you bothered to look at the tariff rates? All of them are under 5%, if that kills them then they were dying anyway.
You do realize this TV is advertised as being Skype enabled? Why would spend the money to get those features then disable it?
A crossover with Mortal Kombat?
My daughter reads the "Hammy the Wonder Hamster" series of books, they use a similar plot device. She's six and has just about outgrown the stories.

Hah! N00b needs to brush up on history. Velocidensity is a well known interwebs term.
In what, 10-15 years he can run again? Maybe he'll run a fantastical re-election campaign and we can all enjoy it.
Only in Florida, the land of drive-through liquor stores.

There's always an oppressor. If not you have anarchy, which could be called oppression by the strong.
I'm not so sure that that was a wise man.
