It took a while, but I finally got through to the "Buy" link. It looks like the 17" has not been upgraded (yet?). Bummer.

Exactly. Plus, you have to know a thing or 2 about NetInfo to change root's password. You can't even su to root "out of the box" without this knowledge.

I know it's an "MP3 Player," but that didn't stop them from getting internet radio to work with it. :)

Why should I worry about surveillance on my online activities? It's not like I'm doing anything illegal.

Right on, man. I'd be careful, though. Talk like that might get you labeled a communist^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hterrorist. You might get black listed. ;)

So ... any NeXT-heads out there remember how to launch a program on a remote NeXTSTEP machine and have the window pop up on your machine? This works pretty much the same was as -display on XWindows.

Rather disappointing that something that was bundled in with the OS (yes, -NXHost worked for ANY program on NeXT) now costs you $250-$300. :(

You might want to do a little better research before getting on your high horse. Java is based on C++ in SYTAX alone. The underlying language and the majority of the base classes are based on objective-C and NeXTSTEP's libraries (Foundation and GUI). When you say Java is like C++, explain how you do multiple inheritance (a HUGE rift from quality OO, by the way) in Java?

    Do some research.
