The ISP has other customers who were being affected by the DOS attacks. They had to act in the interests of the greater good over that of the individual.
You have your right to free speech. You also have a right to be an utter asshole if you wish. But I don't think anyone cares if this tragedy "technically" qualifies as a textbook "worst incident" scenario for the US Space Program.
I don't know who said it first but I'll say it again, "While you may have the right to do something, that does not mean you are always right in doing it."
We're humans, not vulcans. How you will remove the human emotion of desire is a good question. I desire a larger house and a larger car and more of both.
I think we'd do best to work on technologies that can provide what everyone wants without wrecking the planet rather than to simply ask everyone to consume less.
Ok. So the guy has a problem with ONE brand of PC laptops. With PC's you have a choice of over a dozen vendors and the best recommendation you can come up with is to buy a Mac? A computer that uses a completely different operating system and would require not only re-training but a reinvestment in new software for this new OS? Why didn't you recommend a HP, Dell, Gateway,Sony, Micron or even a whitebox laptop?
THINK people THINK. There's nothing wrong with Macs. I love them. But they aren't for everyone.
It is the student who is responsible for his future. The fact that they did not get a high enough grade to get into the graduate program that they desire is irrelevant.
If the student wants to succeed, then they need to study hard, perform well in school and produce good results.
MA is a New England state. The other NE states are, Maine, CT, Vermont, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. MA has neither the most nor the least amount of taxes. Its actually smack dab in the middle. Most people don't know this though because of our famous nickname of Taxachusetts.
You are a blithering moron if you think that just because of outsourcing that the US will lose ALL manufacturing capacity.
There is such a thing as a "strategic industry". The Pentagon knows what they are and won't allow them to go away. Ever wonder why our farmers get so many subsidies? Its one of those pesky strategic industries in that a superpower ought to be able to feed its own populace without relying on other countries for food.
Keep in mind that $200k per year isn't "rich", its just upper middle class. There is a difference. Rich folks don't HAVE to work, ever.

You get what you pay for.

So next time just STFU.
Thats the attitude of humans worldwide, not just Americans.
Am I the only one who's getting sick of the Anti-Globalization movement's pointless existence?
Dont be silly. There's an entire solar system of asteroids to mine. Once hollowed out they can become excellent gravity free farms.

ROFL
Disclaimer: I am a longtime Mac user as well.

I want food, water and air. Now show me how to get along without those.
How are idiots who use the term USian supposed to pronounce it?
I thought that IT workers, you know computer engineers, got to work at McDonalds.

Tell that to the writers, journalists, lawyers, and movie directors who shape our culture and affect everyone on the planet.
Its for the MP3 player so you don't have to dig out the entire PDA just to fast forward, stop, or play a song.

Ever consider bankruptcy? Its one way to get out from under oppressive debt incurred via no fault of your own.
I believe its called raising awareness.
AMERICAN. Not USAian. AMERICAN! United States of America! Its in our friggin country name.
No other nation in the Western Hemisphere has "America" in its name.
Why do you arrogantly assume that Americans are 50% dumber than Austrailans?

Its not illegal for the US to prevent Iraq from developing weapons of mass destruction.
On the other hand, sitting by and doing nothing while not illegal is surely morally bankrupt.
