    Disclaimer: I am a longtime Mac user as well.

    Ok. So the guy has a problem with ONE brand of PC laptops. With PC's you have a choice of over a dozen vendors and the best recommendation you can come up with is to buy a Mac? A computer that uses a completely different operating system and would require not only re-training but a reinvestment in new software for this new OS? Why didn't you recommend a HP, Dell, Gateway,Sony, Micron or even a whitebox laptop?

    THINK people THINK. There's nothing wrong with Macs. I love them. But they aren't for everyone.

    It is the student who is responsible for his future. The fact that they did not get a high enough grade to get into the graduate program that they desire is irrelevant.

    If the student wants to succeed, then they need to study hard, perform well in school and produce good results.

    There is such a thing as a "strategic industry". The Pentagon knows what they are and won't allow them to go away. Ever wonder why our farmers get so many subsidies? Its one of those pesky strategic industries in that a superpower ought to be able to feed its own populace without relying on other countries for food.
