  1. FreeBSD on A Fast Start For openMosix · · Score: 1

When are we going to see Mosix being worked on for FreeBSD. This is something that, the entire community could benefit from. Imaging processes migrating between Linux and BSD machines on the network. I know they have said they were working on it ... but I want to know when?

  2. Website... on Voices From The Hellmouth Revisited: Part Ten · · Score: 1

There is a Site Trying to stop it apparently.... They've got my vote!

  3. Sometimes I hate being a geek around Xmas on Gifts For Geeks · · Score: 3

My girlfriend loves everything about Christmas except for one thing.... buying a present for me. My family isn't too keen on it either, but then... they can just give me money and I'll be happy. It's always good People coming up with these lists... it saves me the trouble of saying "Okay Sweety, what I really want is a 21inch Trinitron to beat the 19inch I bought myself last year." and then smiling while she looks at me like I'm crazy.

Still, I think the greatest gift I get every year is socks. I have one friend who buys me that every year because I annihalte them all by July and then walk around in flip-flops or sandals for the rest of the year claiming that I'm boycotting them.

    ....I hate finals....

  4. College on How Can New Programmers Contribute to Open Source? · · Score: 1

I had this problem back in high-school. I loved to program, but there just wasn't anything I could do due to my lack of in-field experience. Once I got into college I joined a research team. At my University we do a lot of work in *NIX, I got a great deal of experience in writing massive programs and software that is widely used.

  5. Cooling on Voodoo5 6000 Preview · · Score: 1

Forget the nuclear powerplant.... I would probably need another big-ass case fan just to keep that cool. I'm kinda sick of all these graphics cards with seemingly inadequate cooling techniques. I remember how hot my Leadtek TNT2Ultra used to get before it killed itself. I personally haven't used 3dfx since there first generation voodoo cards... and I honestly don't know anyone else who still uses them.
