Uhm, SO WHAT! Just because he has another account OR doesnt have an account here because he READS and NOT POSTS, YOU have no right to comment on his commenting.
BTW- I dont hide behind "Anonymous Coward", I dont care what others think of me.
Cable is also available here, but (1) i don't watch television and (2) you can't get a static IP.
This is true, however, I have ComCast (formerly MediaOne in my area) and my IP is dynamic and it has only changed 3 times in 14 months. To me this is more worth the money. DSL is way more expensive for 192KB/s down and 35KB/s up. Considering I dont want to run ftp, httpd, etc, this works out better for me. The reason in posting this? Just to let anyone know that your IP doesnt change everytime you bounce your modem or router.
This was posted almost a week ago (6 days) and its 'News for Nerds'? I thought us nerds wanted to know the info AS it was coming out, not a week, month, or year later as we have seen happen with some topics here on/.
Actually, I have found that BearShare (which can be found here) is extremly easy to use. It uses the gNutella network, but makes it easy. Yes, there is some configuration, but this program makes it simple enought for a 5 year old to configure it. Give it a try.
You are incorrect. This article states the follwing:
Microsoft said that beginning Tuesday night and through Wednesday morning users have been getting no response from the affected Web sites. Sohn said the problem stems from Microsoft's Domain Name Servers, which translate requests to various Web servers. The servers are operated and maintained by Microsoft.
BTW- when it comes to downtime and everyone bashing MS, please note that it took me over 5 minutes of retries to post this message, and it was not because I posted any other messages within the last minute.
Im sure this will be considered flamebait, but oh well, I dont post often anyways.
Uhh, no. What it is is this... you cant connect to a decent IRC network. In my case, I *CANT* log onto a EFNet IRC server. Why? I have no clue. I am a MediaOne subscriber and I cant connect to ANY EFNet server.
What about DALNet? Sure, if you want pr0n or w473z.
AIM is simply easier to use, and doesnt block you because some other morons decided to flood the server, making them block access from half the net.
Personally, I have done web development for different people over the past few years, and most of them are *NOT* computer illiterate, but they also dont know IRC because they aren't geeks (like most of us here:)), they know IM cause its simple and to the point.
So, in that case what do you listen to? Im not gonna knock ya for what you do listen to, cause I listen to everything (except country and classical.. I just cant listen to it). Personally, I like Creed, Kid Rock, well, hes not a fav, but Ill tolerate him. I also listen to alot of older music too (oldies, not early 90's:))
haha, you know, you said your self that your father thought your music sucked.. who the hell are you to say "oh the music sucks now".. the younger generation likes the music thats out now, otherwise it wouldnt be popular, now would it? On the flip side of the coin, I will most likely think that my kids music will suck in 20 years.. so what.
heh, I had a interview for tech support and walked out with a programming job. 4 years later Im making $50,000/yr and Im 21. Go figure.
1) you have an UID of 400,000+

AOL is *NOT* an ISP. They are an ONLINE COMMUNITY that provides internet access thru their service.

I cant believe that no one modded this up. This is funny! :)

So what if my spelling sucks!
I hope you realize that AIM accounts are *FREE*. You dont have to get an AOL account for AIM.
Just thought I'd clarify that.
Just my $0.02.
