Maybe you should actually think for yourself, rather than regurgitate all this tired Slashbot nonsense.

Probably too much to ask, but sometimes the idiocy is just so overwhelming that someone has to speak up.

I've known so many guys like you. You can't admit when you're wrong. When you get trapped into looking foolish, you either a) argue incessently that you're really not wrong until the other party just gives up, and you declare unilateral victory, or b) just say some variation of "well, we weren't really discussing this seriously..." thereby attempting to distance yourself from your own silly opinions.

They other thing about people like you is that you arrogantly think you're smarter than everyone else, but your arrogance far exceeds your capabilities. Take your posts here -- you want to be seen as so brilliant because you use the tools of the green screen luddite. Woop-de-doo! Got news for you... smart people use the right tool for the job. Sometimes it's command line utilities, sometimes it's MS/Word, and sometimes it's pencil and paper. Only the truly ignorant (such as yourself) thinks that command line tools are always superior to graphical tools (or as you call it, the "time consuming point-and-click process"). That fact that you think Word requires knowledge of the "page layout business" just proves your ignorance of the tool.

In short, why don't you learn about a platform and the tools thereof before knocking them and just proving to everyone that you're a fool?

And exactly how does that change the point? Even if this guy had written this accounting system at a time when this support was available(doubtful), it's still experimental. Do you think he informed his management that he was using experimental transaction support?

Not to mention that this doesn't address foreign key support.

You wrote an accounting system using a database that doesn't support transactions?

Yes, you're a complete fool who shouldn't be allowed near a computer, but I really feel sorry for the company you worked for who didn't know any better.

It's times like this that I think licensing of software engineers is not a bad idea. These people have a business depending on this software, and the software is a ticking time bomb.

Er, "dole queues" are an attribute of socialism, not capitalism. No one practices pure capitalism, which is why you often get dole queues. If we did practice pure capitalism, then it would be "charity lines".

My statement is based on the NAACP of today, not the one of 80 years ago. They are very, very, very different. They are not only anti-white racists, but they hold their own people back by fanning the flames of whatever racism still exists in this country.

The NAACP of today is a great evil, and a blight on society. I am saddened and angered by what they do to hold blacks back from shedding their own limitations.

The leaders of the NAACP care about one thing, and one thing only: their own power. I hope and pray that the black population wakes up and rejects them and people like them.

Oh God, I hope not. The NAACP is one of the most racist organizations in America, perhaps even worse than the KKK (primarily because they are so much bigger and more powerful).

Do me a favor, and tell him that he's an idiot for me. You might be able to pin the age of the earth to two significant figures (albeit imprecisely), but three is just absurd.

And this guy is teaching science!! You would think that a university professor would have enough brains to know that the margin of error is greater than the number of significant digits he's quoting. Hey, I know, I think the earth is actually 4.5767855 years old.

Actually, I would be most amused if you asked him what the margin of error in the number is. I bet he can't even tell you.
