Wow, this site should have been slashdotted... but I bet you would really go insane, if your heard your favorite slashdot-joke (In Soviet Russia, goatse etc.) billionth time from your speakers:)
But there is still lot of network-games, and in my knowledge, there isn't lot of popular network-games for consoles (like counter-strike is for PC's). And with Nevewinter Nights, it isn't half as fun play single player game as it is to play with friends over network.
When consoles have good network game support, then they will maybe succeed againts PC's.
Well, IBM is also competing in Unix OS market (AIX), but they are still promoting Linux. It is true, that AIX is targetting more high-end systems, but it is same with databases. MySQL is in my opinion targetting smaller web sites and low-end systems, DB2 is targetting e-servers and that kind of stuff.

I'm happy that debian finally took kde2 to their release, but i'm wondering why can't they put kde3 in unstable... you have to download it from another site...
And with stable, i don't want all new and cool stuff that i want in my desktop machine (i run testing in my desktop), because stable is like it says STABLE, and that what people (i for one) want to have in my server.
Please read Adminspotting and decide if you are ready to be sysadmin.

Those packages with debian aren't coming in sources (you can get sources though) but most packages in dvd are precompiled binaries. It is not very good way to put all the packages in sources to cd-rom, because then you would need to install compiler, libraries etc. before you can install anything. And it takes LONG time to compile all of your packages.
I got my first IBM Deskstar 75GXP 45GB about a year ago. It worked flawlessly, and i bought another one. Now about an week ago, the first disk i bought, started to keep that not-so-funny noise in filesystem check. I tried to run ibm test software, and it said that the disk was broken. After that, i leaved the disk in my table, waiting to be sent back to store. One day i decided to try it once more. I booted to linux, and made new partition table to it. It keep that horrible noise, but it was able to do the partition table. After that, i tried to make the filesystem, and somehow it worked. I rebooted the machine, and tried to copy some stuff in it. I didn't make any noise, and seemed to work.
My friend bought one of these drives, and it broke in couple of weeks. He got replacement from store, and it broke too. When he got his third replacement, he sold it to someone, didn't want to lose more data...
So what did they talk about in first call? Just called to another, and shouted "FIRST CALL!"?
It speaks about Flash-memory, which is very different think from those.
And another step forward to Microsoft-Amd-Intel-Fujitsu-Hp-Compaq-AOL-Warner-S ony jjoint, which is obviously to come :)
Quick! Call Mr. Burns!

Well, those security companys who are guarding people and buildings, they aren't either hiring robbers, are they?
There could be some former virus writers in those companies, to give some "inside information", but i doubt that.
And with good administrator, you CAN make Windows quite secure.

If he was cracked several times, he should change the named, not the whole OS...
Djbdns site has good information how to upgrade to djbdns from bind.
Well, they have only 50,000 people working in there, do you think they have time to fix all security holes that are reported so quickly? :)
