    Minimum amount is $25k or else you get a service fee. Interest rate varies, but is "high".

    I've been with WellsFargo for about 15 years (actually started with a smaller local bank they bought out) and I can actually pull all my statements (in PDF) since the month I opened my account - and they carried over the statements/history from the bank they picked up. Shrug. Last year my account brought in ~$1k in interest, so I'm not sure I'm getting your "stupid enough to bank with WellsFargo" comment either. Do they suck or something?

    If this unit has the same firmware development team (and likely, it does) who handle firmware for Popcornhour & etc, good luck getting this unit to a usable state until at least a year after initial release.

    popcornhour c-200 is a perfect example of good hardware ruined by crappy firmware support.
    there are still bugs over a year after release that aren't getting fixed. ridiculous.

    To me, sounds like a way old spyware/shitware infested computer and a not-so-literate computer user.
    You can spend 10 years working for Sun and still have no idea how to properly administer a Windows machine.

    General consumers won't have any use for 100 gpio pins, the fragile 240-pin connector will not last on any kind of multiple-insertions application, and in general, is there even any demand for this kind of stuff? bringing more pci-e lanes = only useful for graphics, anyone who needs more than 1x out of a laptop will be buying a desktop instead.

    I got a Toshiba Satellite 2545XCDT with the screen hinges that became too lose after about a year of use. Since it was too much trouble to get them replaced, I put it on my desk at work, propped a heavy lcd monitor stand behind it, and haven't moved it since. It gets huge uptimes.

    On the parts note, Toshiba will NOT (of course) sell you replacement parts for their notebooks. You either take it to authorized toshiba repair center or mail it to them (depending on warranty).

    Sure, I haven't touched DOSEMU since about 1998 but back then I remember all sorts of problems.

    Even now, the article mentions nothing about setting up sound, midi playback, etc, is this all handled automatically by dosemu installer (doubt it).

    This guide seems to be written by someone who just found DOSEMU yesterday and didn't know anyone used it for years before.

    I mean there's even DOSEMU-HOWTO written which is the official linux dosemu howto, what's wrong with that one? It seems to be even kept up-to-date (as popular dos is these days, anyhow).

    And most of the games he mentions on the site have way better native linux ports...

    Sony licensed tivo technology, so its highly unlikely that they will be getting sued for this anytime soon.

    their cocoon video server (which sucks, but thats besides the point), runs software almost identical to U.S. tivo series.

    There is little doubt that similar technology is inside this box as well.

    I did some more tests. Not only will this stop opening an image such as this image, but it will also NOT allow pasting any significant portions of the above image, or !!! not even let you paste in a SCREENSHOT of windows image viewer opening that said image.

    Wow! They must be doing these does-this-look-like-money checks on every operation on the image that involves getting image data from outside the application! Crazy.

    Now, aside from the fact whether this is a good or a bad feature, but will localized versions of Adobe photoshop CS be detecting local currency, or will they only have routines for U.S. dollars?

    I don't want to feel left out, what if I wanted to use photoshop to make some fake Canadian money? :D

    Left-side shortcuts on common file open/save dialog boxes can be easily configurable by using
    a) group policy editor
    b) tweakui from microsoft.
    (both of these assume you are running Windows2000/XP/2003)

    In either cases, you have a choice of setting the shortcut to a namespace clsid (my computer, my docs, etc) or to a full pathname to anywhere you want.

    For example, my file/open dialog on my windows machine has desktop,mycomputer,2 direct links to company file shares, and a path link to a temp directory on my machine.

    But, of course, you couldn't be bothered to know this, since its easier to just complain.

    Internet explorer can also auto-add www. + .com if you press ctrl+enter while typing the url.
    so google + ctrl/enter gives you what you want.
    This also seems to depend on language settings - pressing ctrl+enter with regional settings set to "japan" will prepend www. and append .co.jp

    I think MYIE2 has different modifiers, ctrl+enter adds .com, shift-enter adds .net, etc.

    He speaks the truth.

    He might be wrong about 3 users, but now all the people that ARE using RaQ's will be that much more open to attack.

    Besides, Cobalts arent exactly well-known for security, either. I've heard that .php.inc files in the user/admin interface were left browsable, so that administrator passwords could be easily viewed if attacker knew their location on the filesystem. And with opening the source to the UI, things like that will happen.

    Most server machines support BIOS over serial port. And not your most expensive ones, either.
    I have some low-end NEC servers, and the BIOS (by default) comes configured to check for a console on serial port, and appear there, instead of the primary monitor.

    And this has been around for quite a while.
