If you use the right extension, it is NOT harmful.
I have used Xenomai in a real product that shipped for a company that does embedded real-time systems for industrial controls. This was on a Freescale mpc5200 (PowerPC). Worked nicely for our real-time application. A guy named Philip Gerum heads up the project and is a swell guy to work with. If you need real-time support on x86, ppc or arm, then xenomai is definitely the way to go.
I'm still ticked that the version I bought several years ago didn't have the Harrison Ford dialogue. His dialogue gave the movie a sort of pulp-fiction detective story mood that was missing in the director's cut.
Dallas (now part of Maxim) has been doing this kind of stuff for years with their DS5002/5240/5250 series CPUs (http://www.maxim-ic.com/products/microcontrollers /secure/). Of course these are 8-bit devices that are used primarily for Pin-pad type devices at the Point-of-sale.
Is. 13:6-9 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt: And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

Then number represents the Roman Empire which used numbers such as D=500, C=100, L=50, X=10, V=5, I=1.
Adding them all up gives: DCLXVI = 666
This was John's way of showing that this enumeration was of the Roman government, or rather the beast raised up implying a rebirth of the Roman empire which many believe is culminating in present form as the EU.
Rev 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; Rev 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. Rev 8:12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
Now just hope they don't name some asteroid "Wormwood".
I bought the Apex 703 at Circuit City and returned it a few days later. It had sync problems between the video and audio, wouldn't play some MP3's if they were encoded under 128Kbps, occasionally would play audio CDs without putting out audio (then worked after power cycling). It also on occasion would have 1/2 second pauses (hiccups) where the video would halt and then resume. However some DVDs and CDs played great. I decided that playing DVDs was more important so I swapped it for a Hitachi unit with no CDR or MP3 capability (keeping my fingers crossed).

Accolades Xenomai!
This is why I'll never upgrade
Bravo. <><

Most people should be afraid:

3. The current VeriChip has nothing to do with buying or selling.

It's about 23 mi/gal. Of course I used the conversion factor 20oz=591mL right off my Mountain Dew bottle.
Looks good for fragging.
She's smart because she knows CS is a dead-end.

Followed instructions closely, everything builds okay. Failed when performing 'insmod fglrx.o'.
Typical.
