How odd that I noticed this earlier in the day. Slashdot is slower than my own curiosity these days. For Shame.
I had personally sent an email a few weeks back suggesting they merge gmail with groups to some extent. Bring back the glory days of dejanews.
In fact, what is google missing nowadays when it comes to search?
A telephone name and reverse lookup type system would be nice. yahoo has one of those I think, but it sucks. I'm sure if google were to provide one it would be fairly straightforward
It'd be nice if google also provided babelfish.altavista.com type services. too bad google cant just buy altavista.
a simple weather report would also be something other search engines have that google doesnt.
what else is google missing that a good information search service should or could have?
I love keramik and crystal from the day they first came out. I'm sick of the grey ugly desktops most linux traditionalists want. Go use your stinkin motif themes or bluesteel or steelcurve or gnome-ugly themes. keramik is stylish and colourful without being overly animated and excessive. If people with taste hate Keramik so much why is there so much effort to make keramik themes for gnome (geramik) and open office crystal themes? If you don't like it, use something else, but your console loving fluxbox using opinions arent needed when it comes to convincing the masses to use kde.
Plastik is too boring. Its a step backwards. As is that version of Keramik thats called Keramik-lite. Keramik screenshots made me ditch the console for kde. (that and Konsoles tabs.. tabs are the greatest invention ever!)
As a Canadian, AND someone with actual money in RBC investments, I'm totally disgusted. It's as bad in my eyes as having investments in Enron or any other such corrupt company propped up by shady deals and questionable legalities.
Of course, theres no point in whining about it now, as they've made their money and are getting out of it probably with a bit of profit at the expense of people even stupider.
Still, it makes me question the bank I've used exclusively over the past 20 years. I'm forced to take a closer look at what they're doing with my money.
Links (not LYNX) is better and it can render exactly like lynx if you turn tables off, it even does frames and is GPL, it also does colour better and allows you to keep browsing while a web page is loading.
plus i think its smaller than lynx too. its good. im using it right now.

You know, I think I'm person number 5, but I'm going to enlighten everyone else and reveal that this quote is from The Hudsucker Proxy, a film about the hula hoop starring the great Tim Robbins. That was sortof a geek movie too.
If you're looking for a cheap rental, get it. I've never researched if it's based on any real life account or anything.. Probably not.
well I liked it.
get a data switch for your monitor they're pretty cheap, and another video cable.
to keep this on topic, im gonna go see this movie at the cheap theatre tonight
what can I say I've been a Tim Robbins fan since shawshank redemption.
It's so great other newbie type distros are using it. It's a great front end to all the other graphical configuration tools that exist.
Granted its very similar to microsofts configuration tools, but everybody knows how to configure microsofts stuff.
www.arklinux.org.. i think theres screenshots.
