should get full disclosure.. In the case of windows MS, in the case of Linux the community. Doesn't it make sense that if you can't fix it it's only a liability to know all of the details anyway..
This is nice in theory but they still haven't come up with a good reason to clone a human. Besides the purly novel(have a best friend), or completely unethical(organ factory). Maybe they should have more research into "Why would anybody want to be cloned??"
I remember in my last college physics course(a theoretical physics course) something very much like this was discussed. Back in the very first instants of the universe many of the fundamental forces were combined but as the universe cooled the separate forces condensed out. Is this something different or is this just new proof?
I don't think that Linux or Windows is inherently more secure against worms. They both have motivations to close holes up and release secure OS's. MS has the $ of the consumer. Linux distributions have competition with MS, and principle.
The simple fact remains that so matter what your motivation or methods there will be unforeseeable exploits in any large piece of software, due to the complexity of the system.
If the blast won't be releasing pollutants they should just use a large open area.
I suppose this is almost a necessity when the blast would be releasing dangerous chemicals.

Well its not really a break thru.. They've havd lower quality pictures for some time now.
And the story is quite brief leaving little to discuss.
Sure this is important for understanding the physical distribution of matter in the universe, and give us better data to theories against,b ut not particularly newsworthy.
One use that came to my mind is determining the age of the sun by analyzing the proportions of elements in the solar wind, but they can do that now with spectrum analysis.
Tired of dents in your car's fenders. Now in this super special awesome limeted time offer you can get "Super Hard Steel" for only 19.99. Just spray Super Hard Steel on your cars metal surfaces and instantly your car is super protected and thats a super promise. Look when this ordinary car is car is hit by a shopping cart, ouch, ugly dent now with the same cart and a "Super Hard Steel" treated car the cart just blows up.. Order in the next 10 minuets and we'll throw in a secon can for the same low price that's two cans of "Super Hard Steel" for only 19.99 order now.
So basicly what they have proven (or strongly suspect) is that the human brain can adapt to useing specialized heuristics much like the chess programs that they play against(alpha-beta, min-max).
I had the same situation when I was younger except my brother and I stuck to the principal that only the inventor could use a particulat peice of witty banter. We found that without this protection out arguments were always bland because there was no competitive force behind them. Maybe patents are childish in the sense that even kids can figure out their purpose...
At least if EU syncs pantents with the US there will be less ambiguity in international law, and it may even cause some foreign policy pressures against bad pending and future US software patents...
Sweaty-ass is probably the worst side effect of long hours of coding but what I find helps is a bringing a nice heavy towel to sit on, after all a towel is a hitchhikers most important tool.
I'm sitting in one of these bad boys right now and it's the best chair I've ever sat in. My only complaints are that the chair shifts out of adjustment every 3 or 4 weeks(lunbar moves up, arm rests move down). Our IT department got one of these chairs for everybody last year funny thing now is they're looking for ways to cut cost, thankfully I'm just the intern...:)

Woops I only read the first half of the article..
Isn't limited use of code allowed by MS's shared source, or does that license just buy one the right to view?
I don't see MS's shared source licensing in the comparison..
I guess there will be no more hunt and peck for me.
Doesn't current theory describe the EM force as condensing out of the Electro-Weak force early in the universe's creation?

Well the mystery should be pretty easy to figure out. They all got stupid on the cargo and decided to go swimming.

Any body else find it odd that, they mentioned this being the first mission returning samples since the Apollo moon mission, three times..
Anyway, does anybody know what kind of research they intend to do when they get these samples?
Also, anyone else notice that the quality of a comic is inversely proportional to the length of its run?
Yes and I have noticed many great comics that turn to crap later in the series as the publisher try to milk it out for as much as money as possible..
