This couldn't more true, thanks for putting a smile on my face today. :)

What the fuck is it with politicians and acronyms? SAFE? Give me a fucking break! And this business of 'fast tracking' bills need to be stopped now. Seems our politicians, judges and lawyers are too big of pussy's to stand up for our constitutional rights. They're more concerned about getting re-elected by not giving the impression that they're soft on drunk drivers, pedophiles etc.

If the people who go on shooting sprees could do us any favor, it is to shoot the politicians, lawyers and judges who violate your constitutional rights instead of innocent people.

Cool, this sounds like the ticket to fast Solid State hard drives. I know there are some flash drives being produced, but the limited read/write cycle is what has kept me from trying one. I would most certainly like to have a drive where slew rate and rotational latency are non-existent.

Yeah, right. You probably said this just to keep the FEDS off your back. I mean after all, we cannot have research show that smoking pot is even in the remotest good for you. The status quo multi million dollar drug enforcement empire need to be kept in place.

  7. Jane and Joe user on The Fastest Processor You Can't Run · · Score: 2, Interesting

Raw CPU speed is nice but when are we going to make the busses fatter. Most of the bottle necks are in the memory and hard drive subsystems. My Sun Ultra 2 for instance, it has two 64 bit 400 MHz processors, a 576 bit wide memory buss and a reasonably fast SCSI interface. Even though this thing is a dinosaur by todays standards it easily kept up with an old dual 1GHz PIII.

Besides, just how much unwarranted computing performance does Jane and Joe user really need to surf the net, do e-mail, instant message, play music and do home office chores.

What I meant to imply is that the 'anti-gravity' technology has to have it's own internal power source that cannot be turned off, and is self sustaining. Also, the 'on board' navigation / collision avoidance system will have to use the planet's natural magnetic field and NOT (or maybe in conjunction with) some centralized designed for failure GPS system. Sky highways would also have to be high enough so you wont have a problem with bird flight and migration paths. In any event, I'll NEVER see anything like this in my lifetime.
