    They do a lot of research...unfortunately most of it ends up in a coffin buried deep underground.

    So it's not as if it was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'.

    Then again, how similar is similar? Just look at how laptops. Modern designs are quite different from those in the late 1980's, so much so that modern laptops look almost identical outside of the branding. Which suggests that all modern laptops have a common ancestor -- a ripped off design. And they probably do.

    You just may be right about a common ancestor to all modern laptops.

    You don't need likewise-open (which might now be better named "likewise-closed" as it's been sold off to another company, probably to "monetize" all the suckers who installed the "free" version :-). Winbindd which ships with Samba will do the authentication and is developed and tested in conjunction with the rest of Samba.

    No, not quite. Android phones sell in greater numbers than iOS phones. If we compare devices running the OS, iOS sells a helluva lot more than Android.

    Not sure about the Franco ethics thing (haven't seen the movie, just read synopses here) but if you are referring to testing an untried drug on his father... It wouldn't surprise me one bit. I've had about five family members with the disease, and it just isn't fun. For anyone involved.

    Surely statistically, given the number of experiments done with lab-rats we're much more likely to produce a race of super-intelligent lab rats.

    Rats would also have more of a desire to wipe out humanity... after all we keep giving them cancer. I'm holding onto my movie-fund budget until Hollywood releases "Planet of the lab rats"

    We've already had Ben and Willard (and a remake of Willard). That's enough.
