I thought the Knight Foundation was focused more on fighting crime - Championing the cause of the innocent, the helpless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.
Okay, shooting people is illegal, but shooting people to protect others from getting shot is not. Compromising internet security is illegal in China, but hacking to "protect" the Chinese people from having their leader's security compromised must be okay, right? Obviously, there is nothing worse than having your leader's integrity challenged, so they are doing everybody a favor by hacking the Times.
Hey, they bought those kids fair and square, and the company can do what it wants with its own damn property! I bet most of them aren't even being used for sex!
Driving as much as I do, I have to say that rape is a perfectly justifiable punishment and potentially a quite effective deterrent.

I like this idea! I see so many drivers flaunt the rules, usually in a dangerous manner, and I want to be able to punish them without having to first load and aim a gun.
Yellow duration is generally based on the formula:
Seconds Yellow = speed limit/10
If a municipality changes this, you could probably fight a ticket based on it. I would. Traffic law should not be used as a revenue generating tool. That violates the very concept of the rule of law.
Anyhow, if you are in the intersection when the light turns red, you ran the light and I hate you and want you punished. I just don't want the money to go to the municipality, as that encourages them to misuse the law.
Has anyone else noticed that the First Daughters have just had Christmas morning ruined by the press?

I live in a hand built cabin in the middle of a secluded plot of land that has been in my family since before 1776. I have no roads or power, I get my water from an old well, I was homeschooled and my family has had no contact with the outside world for over three hundred years. I have eight fingers on each hand, an iq of seventy, speak an archaic and hopelessly corrupted form of Dutch, and the very concept of a television or computer would cause me to panic and perhaps burn somebody as a witch. I have never heard of the federal government or public services, but I have heard family legends of a distant king.

Absolutely, but there iis another issue that makes this meaningless.
Since this is a study of the impact of a military action on public opinion, we need to be able to compare it to conventional action. I propose an experiment! Conduct actions with special forces teams, regular (and therefore larger) forces, manned air strikes and drone strikes and compare the effects. Even still, it will be difficult (nearly impossible?) to control all the variables, but given that military operations are necessary, and that minimizing the negative effect on public perception of these operations is desirable, shouldn't we test to see what type of operation is going to have the least impact?
Combine this with the robot doing neural patch clamping and maybe I can finally get past being forced to waste time composing comments via my fingers like a damn hobo.
