20% is a pretty good margin in high to mid volume retail. Especially as you don't really do much to sell them (stick em on a shelf and ring in up on the til). Supermarkets and big department stores (kmart for example) usually get 3%-5%!

This has (or at least a preposed RT port) been in the NetBSD "tree" since at least 95. I know because I've had an RT sitting around doing nothing for about that time waiting for this to finish. I know I should get in there and do it myself but there's just never enough hours in the day.
IBM has come out on Open Source Side of late. They're porting jfs (ther journaling file system) to linux and they help with the S/390 port and are supposedly going to do the RS/6000 power chip line RSN. There's some info on http://www.ibm.com somewhere and there's been a discussion for the last week in comp.unix.aix (check it at deja.com). In short I think you'll find that at the moment you've got an AIX only box, but I'm sure the community would love some help with a port:)
From what I've seen (I only been reading UF for a few months plus looking through a few archives) UF doesn't make fun of lusers much at all, if ever anyone got an example? If anything they make fun of the techs more than anyone (see the AJ and Miranda thread and the hilarious Lord of the Ping). Seem to me if political correctness has reached the point where we can't make fun of oursleves there's not much point in having humour in any form anymore. I mean "A man walk's into a bar, realises that he's a womanising alcohol and goes home to cry to his wife and kids." ain't much of a "funny".
I've read all the comments and agree with most of these FTIW. This is a pretty extreme thing to have to do. However I had a few dealing with the guy in question and the other side. I stayed right out of the argument I just wanted to keep the aus.snow newsgroup alive. He was determined to do as much damage to as many people as possible. I think there are cases where this is warrented.
Anyone who's been anywhere near true computer geeks soon comes to realize that the driving ethic behind the Internet isn't pornography, technology or money-making. It's not even freedom.
It's the yen for cool stuff - designing it, programming it, acquiring it or trying it out.
Ah at last some word of wisdom from Katz. His distilled the next into a few throw away lines.
I mean really the duality of the soul is explained on page 30! Along with othe models of spirituality though the ages. If you can't get as far as page 30... For you to critisize Wertheim's writing style is too much. Personaly I find you wordy and full of fluf. Still each to there own.

Any chance of not spoiling Survivor for those of us on the other side of the world who haven't got this episode yet?
