RAID is fine, even for home users. The only way you could lose data to RAID is if it wasn't backed up. RAID isn't a backup.

Services like CrashPlan cost pennies a day and would have backed it all up. If they could afford 20TB of media and the storage to host it, there is no reason they could not afford to back it up.

9.1 also shipped with a busted MFI driver - it corrupts data on drives larger than 2TB. While you can download and compile a fixed kernel, they still haven't released an official update, since it is seen as a "bug fix", and not a "security fix". 8.4 may have been better for our new server. :(

OnLive actually works surprisingly well... It's a shame that it hasn't been a success. The same technology will be used by Sony in the PS4. If it works there, maybe more people will take a look at OnLive, again (if they're still in business).

I don't think the amount is from the past 5 days. http://www.freebsdfoundation.org/press/2012Jul-newsletter.shtml#Fundraising As of July 31st, 2012, they had $180,000 raised. So from July 31st to December 10th, they raised $80,000 or so.
