Using terms like "mouth breather" and then to have proof provided that it is you that is wrong in your assumptions must be very disappointing. Yes California can "require" it's citizens to pay a use tax on items bought outside the state but it can not force someone from outside the state to collect that tax. The states have no right regulate a company located out side the state or to regulate commerce with an other state. Hence the tariff statement because it is all part of the same law. The simple solution for the states would be to abolish sales tax on most items. Leave it on some like Gas, cigs, and alcohol and then just raise you state income tax to cover the difference. But that is your problem not any other states.
Funny but you have internet access and I bet cable TV and you have enough money to buy electronic crap but you say you are poor. You keep using that word but I do not think really know what it means.
You pay tax when you buy it in state. You do not pay tax if it is purchased out of state. A state can tax purchases in the state but not in another state.
Except it is unconstitutional for a state to tax or regulate interstate commerce. Imagine if California could put a tariff on Florida Orange juice coming into the state to protect California growers? That is one of those things that is clearly forbidden in the constitution. The issue is that the internet confuses where the commerce is taking place but it is no different than catalog sales and those are also not taxed.
What about doing the reverse? Use this to produce light? Maybe for a monitor or screen. Yes no the problem is to make a lot of really cheap transmitters. Maybe really tiny magnetrons?
That is the problem on Slashdot. Way too many people on here that would say that these days. I was hoping that it was a joke. Forgive my error and thank you for restoring my faith in Slashdot for a moment. Hey at least I asked.
Are you kidding or really don't get it. Amateur radio is about the radio part of it. And yes there are repeaters that are linked by IP but the point is to use the radio. Also what good does that do if you are trying to communicate from a boat in the middle of the Atlantic or some place with no Cell service or Internet?
We still have FM radio, Radar, and Broadcast TV stations. I would still listen first then transmit. If they are in 2011 then we should hear something and hopefully they will also be listening. Should be getting the Cosby show about now.
Depends. Do you want to pay a lot of money for this LED bulb that will save power and last a long time or do you want the cheap bulb. vs Do you want this cool bulb that will save you money and allow you to control the lights from anywhere in the house. I tend to leave a light on in the morning if I will not be back until late so I can see when I get home. Timers are a pain. If I could turn them on remotely when I got home it would be great. Over all a net savings in power.
Then stop being a consumer and start being a developer. I have never worked with Mono as a developer but some of the FOSS programs that where written with it are very useful. Since they are FOSS I can fix and modify them if I wish. But if you do not like them it is your right to not use them. You just have no right to crab about other choices since they do not really effect your freedom to write what you want.
I guess I find it really odd that we would do that. First thing I would do is turn our Radio Telescopes to it and see if we can hear anything. Seems kind of rude to just start shouting at them. Of course if you think about it Humans have had a civilisation for well over 4000 years on Earth. Yes it was primitive but we have been reading and writing and smelting metals and creating art for more than 4000 years. We have only had radio for about 100 of those years and radio telescopes for around 50 years. There could be a civilisation on that planet equal to 1900 and we couldn't talk to them.
Well since you are nothing but a mindless troll I should ignore you but I just can't. A projector would a real problem because of space. But if you could provide a 50" 300DPI display yes even that would be useful for documentation That would be a great to add to a three monitor setup with one monitor to handle debugging and one that is for running the app you are testing. So yes even that much could be useful if it would work. The thing is that projectors are expensive, space is expensive, and monitors are cheap. You can by three 22" HD monitors for the price of a single projector. So go crawl back under your rock and stop trying to harras your betters.
Well since we understand the chemistry of life we classify habitable as having the ability to support that Chemistry. Liquide water is the number one requirement. Since our planet is habitable then by sheer definition any other planet that is habitable will be more or less like earth. It would be illogical to classify a planet that is totally unlike earth as habitable. Even if it turns out that a planet like Jupiter can support life it will then be kind of like Earth because like Earth it will be habitable.
Hey even a broken clock is right twice a day. Some of the stunts are funny but frankly the attacks on free speech and the other other pranks go too far.
Welcome to the myth of Anonymous. Anonymous didn't take personal data from the Sony Network. Anonymous has no members so just because some people that say they are members of Anonymous did the attack you can not say Anonymous did it. Followed by. Anonymous fights for internet freedom!
The attack on Sony is just the latest example. Anon was at it's best a gang of relatively harmless jerks. Now they are just dangerous jerks with delusions that they have a right to be judge, jury, and executioner.
I would say that hit the nail on the head. Developers can get their work done with a 12" monitor. Or no monitor at all, think of all the software written on punch cards. I have written code using a keypad and LEDs by typing in Hex. But in this day and age it is STUPID. Monitors are cheap and people are expensive.
You can never have too much screen space as a developer. It is that simple. Even if it to run the Debugger in one and the application in the other. As many people pointed out that a monitor costs what? $150? $200? That is how many hours of pay for the Developer? Even worrying about it a clear case of Penny Wise Pound foolish.
1. Ubuntu
2. Firefox
3. Chrome
4. OpenOffice
5. VLC
Yea ICQ and IRC for me.
When you buy it in the state and it is collected by a store in the state.
Not at all. The "mouth breathers" sic in this case was the Supreme Court has ruled that sales tax on catalog sales is unconstitutional.
Here is the case http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quill_Corp._v._North_Dakota
And as you can see it specifically mentions the commerce clause and references this case http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Bellas_Hess_v._Illinois

How is it on the backs of the poor when the poor don't pay taxes for the most part?
Also sales tax is state and local not federal.
Except it is unconstitutional for a state to tax or regulate interstate commerce. Imagine if California could put a tariff on Florida Orange juice coming into the state to protect California growers?

So you vote for the world-government conspiracy... Very prudent.

Or they are a bunch of delusional thugs and the delusion is falling apart in the cold light of reality. It has to be big business and the government that wants to see anon fail?

MacBook Air 11" screen and keyboard.
This 4" screen.
Those are very different devices.
