The headline of that article is: Enterprise Linux server distributions
Not that a comparative review pitting Linux against Solaris or Windows Server 2003 (oh, hell, OK, Linux vs. AIX) isn't a good idea, but the article doesn't pretend to be all encompassing.
Guys, we posted that story last Sunday night, like *six* days before some Slashdot user posted a link to it (Linux Today had it way earlier).
Much as I love driving up our page views (and don't worry, our servers can take the load), I have better things to do than try to inflame Slashdot users.
As you'll see from that article, it's originally from Network World, not CNN (hey, click on www.nwfusion.com/news/1999/1220eto ys.html for both the article and our own links).
Our audience consists mainly of network managers at large companies, i.e., the kind of people who worry (or who should worry) about things like DoS attacks. If you keep reading the article, you'll see we used the etoys case as a hook on which to base a more general article on the issue.
Harvard doesn't have a reactor, but MIT does - and just outside Central Square.

Cringely got his facts all screwed up. As you can see in our story, Tolly Research looked at Gigabit Ethernet performance on NT and Win 2000.
