They need to make sure that they cater for all markets including the second hand trade because companies like CEX, Gamestation all bring revenues to game industry. If you decide to pull the plug then these companies well go bust and less revenue for the industry.
Microsoft should do some homework first before releasing a always internet connected device - not everyone has internet and most people prefer to stay offline to play games and video. I think personally consumer should have more control of what the product can do.
