Nerd rage - that's a terrible Logan's Run reference. In Logan's Run society people are are killed when they hit 30. The median age certainly wouldn't be anywhere near 28/29.
Robert Sawyer has a few books that cover this topic. Sawyer has a great way of showing how technological advances might impact today's (western) society. He seems like writing about immortality as he has several books on the topic. "Mindscan" is about a man who undergoes a somewhat common process to create of an android replica, and how both the replica and the human live on after the process (the human is required by contract to permanently retire to a colony on the moon). The book "Rollback" is about a technology that makes you young again. This one is probably the most realistic as the technology is only for the extremely wealthy, at first. Over time as efficiencies advance, the technology becomes more affordable, as we would likely see if Itskov is ever successful.
Regardless of the scenario, I suspect most of us alive today won't live long enough for this process to become affordable.
I, for one, totally believe and accept that they will not record you using the Kinect sensors and microphone.
It's the other camera and microphone they installed on the console that will do all of the surveillance!
If you don't boycott, you are indirectly financing an anti-gay organization. Card is a board member of an anti-gay group that actively lobbys and demonstrates against gay marriage. And given Card's past statements about just how much he is against gay marriage, you can be sure he puts his own resources towards that end. If boycotting leads to Card making less money (either by the contract being dropped, or less of a cut for Card), then he will have less money to use to spread hate.
And don't get me wrong, I love Ender's Game - my wife and I bought the series a few years ago. And by doing so we unknowingly supported Card's anti-gay agenda. Maybe just a few dollars, or even a few cents of that purchase went to Card. The sad thing is, if I had known about this, and known how good Ender's Game was, I probably would have still bought the book.
That's a classy (nerdy) way to go out!
To lend weight to the Battletoads analogy, Terra Tubes is level 9 and this is level 3. As you'll see it is nearly impossible to succeed without knowing what is ahead of you. Normally you would have to fail many times before you learned enough about the upcoming obstacles to get through.
