However, it would be right, considering what the Isrealites did to the Palastineans was no better than what Hitler did to them. And more importantly, what right did we have to support, and actually push for it.

Unless I commit a crime, he has no right to delve any deeper into my life, and just because somone else may have committed a crime doesn't mean that they have a right to investigaste everyone.

Furthermore, I would like one example of a power the government recieved that they didn't abuse. I would like the comfort of knowing when I'm alone, I'm alone. And the rinky-dink little CCTV setup at the local 7-11 is not the same as a machine that attempts to identify you, and then reports you if it believes you're a crook. No one takes the tapes from the CCTV to the police unless there's been a crime. Besides, how long will it be before this system notifies local officers of "potential" offenders based on past offenses? Screw that, life will fuck you, life will hurt you, and eventually, life will kill you. Stop fucking it up for the rest of us just because there has to be a few casulties along the way.

Pretty soon you'll have nothing more to do in your home that eat and watch TV, or else the Police come busting down your door for the unwholsome activity of speaking out against the government. Oh, and while I have the soap box, we wouldn't have so many liability laws if people would just take responsibility for their actions.

I think the best way to deal with this is a two step method. First set up a proxy that either prevents or limits the size of the files being transmitted. Then, set up your database with a uniquely patterned/formatted key (the charchters won't matter, you'll see why) For instance if the key was always nnn%nn$$nn! (n=some character), then you could have your proxy search all e-mail and text files for a string that matches that formatted key. Because of the format of the key, it's unlikely you'll turn a false positive on regular e-mail and the such.

As far as preventing authorized systems (in this case, systems allowed to transmit binary files) from sending out confidential data, you could look into encrypted filesystems. I'm not experienced witht these, but I wouldn't imagine it to be too hard to force everything binary from that filesystem to remain encrypted if transferred from that filesystem. However, like I said, I don't know too much about encrypted filesystems.

Well, although I think it's great that we can get info on products we want, or even buy them, I also feel that all of these "victim" companies are the same companies that are destroying the net with their petty patents, and greed grabs at cash (although this comment is not directed at this company, who I'm really not familiar with, I'm making a generalization about MOST companies, and no, I don't condone cracking). Could this just be ordinary failure on a system that wasn't properly fault tolerant?
