  1. There are better options on iPhone Users Angry Over AT&T Upgrade Policy · · Score: 1

Just go with a real smart phone like Nokia N97 or Palm Pre. They beat the crap out of iPhone in features and versatility and give you much better value for money, and you don't have make life long deal with the operator, at least not with Nokia devices.

  2. The title for the article is wrong and misleading. on Sony CEO Proposes "Guardrails For the Internet" · · Score: 2, Informative

The title for the article is wrong and misleading, probably on purpose since Sony bashing seems to be the hottest thing a zealot can do these days.

The guy who made the comment is not Sony CEO (Howard Stringer is) but CEO of Sony Pictures the movie company. Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony Pictures, Sony Music etc. are different companies, and fairly independent too.

The actual CEO of Sony has very different views about the Internet and it's possibilities.

  3. Re:Better luck next time on Toshiba To Halt HD-DVD Production · · Score: 2, Informative

Blu-ray was the first introduced HD format and would have been the DVD forum's choice too, but Toshiba decided to make it a format war because they didn't have the same licensing revenue coming from Blu-ray that they had from DVD. Microsoft backed Toshiba's plan furiously as it's HDi was ditched in favour of Java as the technology for interactive content on Blu-ray discs.

So, Toshiba along with Microsoft were the bully and warmonger in this case, not Sony.

  4. Kalevala on Tolkien's sources: Icelandic Sagas and Beowulf · · Score: 3, Informative

Good reading for those seeking the myths behind the Middle Earth is Kalevala which is the saga and tales of the Finnish people. Tolkien was greatly impressed and influenced by the Kalevala, specially Silmarillion has many similarities to Kalevala. Tolkien also studied the Finnish language and used it to create the Elf language.

What are you talking about? The land-line (or fixed-line) networks in Finland are and have always been among the best in the world. Have you ever been to Finland or used Finnish telecom networks?
