  1. lifestyle? on Long Working Days Can Cause Heart Problems, Study Says (theguardian.com) · · Score: 1

If you're going to discuss long working hours and heart problems, surely should the amount of exercise not also be considered? This is a big misleading. But I always appreciate the articles being shared on slashdot regardless :-)

  2. avoid them on Ask Slashdot: How Would You Deal With A 'Gaslighting' Colleague? · · Score: 0

As suggested in the link, I'd "avoid them entirely," although easier said then done. If they ask about your work, change the subject (it's a trap). Don't ask them about their work. If they're your mentor, seek out developing relations with other colleagues. That way if things get rough, you may have an opportunity to sneak out into your colleagues dept. I find detecting these people is the hard part. My red flag is when they're constantly curious about your work, and not contributing anything about theirs. In my opinion, the more aggressive route usually doesn't work, and leads to wasting time. Just beat your own drum, and get your results in. Your hard work, and relations with other colleagues will carry more weight than their delusions.

  3. life on Interviews: Ask Martin Shkreli a Question · · Score: 0

To what extent would you say have your actions were reinforced by support from the social bubble that surrounds you? On a scale of 1 to 10, how normal would your peers consider your actions? What would be their common justification? Now that you see how unpopular your actions have been, would you use your intelligence/network for a common good? Give me once concrete example if you can. If you were to change your course of direction for this common good, what consequences would you foresee facing in the near future? Not trying to poke fun, but trying to understand. I am a logical human being. You acted, and the common network reacted and now you face consequences, some of them being judicial, some of them related to disruption of networks (the common people). That is all normal. Of course, I don't like or trust you myself from what I've seen and evaluated how your actions misalign with my values. I think if you were in my shoes you'd perfectly agree. Other than that, emotion is just a channel for the media to take control of our lives. In my opinion 100% bashing posts are a little foolish.

I don't ask you to understand. My main concern (for the record, I of course don't like him, and I'm sure he knows he's disliked) is how this man is basically a scapegoat for the irresponsibilities that others in this same community have performed. It would be interesting to understand the inner mechanisms of this corrupt society. My opinion is you've likely never appreciated physics. (Maybe taken it, but not appreciated)

your comment is probably what slashdot was looking for, but anyway... A quest for understanding should not be based on judgment/emotion, if we truly want to advance as a constructive forward thinking species. I'm most definitely interested to hear the interview, what facts we can uncover, and what loopholes we may want to focus on. Thanks /.
