I still use my A500 on a regular basis with DPaint IV. If this company comes through with Amiga compatible hardware at the $800 price tag for the wannabe G3(1010) with a DVD drive, then I will be first in line to buy one. A good place to get the OS is at Softhut, they have OS 3.1 for $92 and the upgrade to 3.5 costs $40(Pre order). I say good luck to this company, since it seems Amiga,Inc. is going to screw up the Amiga just like commodore did.
There are two kinds of people in the world those who like Python and those that don't. It is totally a matter of opinion weather or not you find them funny. Personally I think they are the funniest comedy troupe ever. On to your second sentence. I really don't see why you think an article on slashdot needs to be tech related, I know this has been stressed before but here it comes again. Slashdot News for Nerds. Stuff that Matters. I fart in your general direction, your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.;)
I was also an outcast in high school because of my deep interest in computers. When I was 15 my best friend told me I should enroll in American School. I enrolled and I was able to finish the last three years of high school in one and a half years while I was working a 30 hour a week job. I now work as a consultant pulling in between forty and fifty grand a year. Anyone that likes self study anf feels outcast try finding a home school to enroll in. It helped me become a much better and happier person.
It seems stupid to base productivity on the number of lines you code. Just look at almost any M$FT product, they have an incredible line count but not many of them are very productive. If line count was a measure of how good a program is then all bloated M$FT programs would perform really well. When I was in high school our programming teacher told us to try and find an algorithm that was the best solution with the least amount of code. So if coding fewer lines make me a lazy american programmer then so be it.
