Not really much the people can do about it when the corporations have the government printing money in the basement just to cover deficit spending. Almost makes one wonder when they are going to start passing bad bills. There has been an imbalance of power for so long there is just no way that can take place without repercussions somewhere. The people in the finance industry I speak with tell me they are just holding off the fall until it becomes someone else's problem, and they know that can only happen so long.
Wouldn't be the first question I've seen the government refuse to explore. Credibility and confidence is not earned by the use of force, or martial law or any shade of gray in that they elect to impose.
Actually, they dubbed the term 'constitutionalist' and filed it under terrorist. Fact of the matter, they are corporate bitches, and we the people are paying the price of corporate fear of reprisal for their own actions with our freedoms and additional cost on their 'security', and we the people get shit and a broke and hungry government. There were documents that leaked from the FBI back in 2002 that explained the irrational fear driven classification of a terrorist. I didn't believe it when I first saw it, but yeah it is true.
You're not taking into account that since the strength and credibility of the dollar is no longer what it was, the mob and gangs are trading in humans and blood money, this market is one they can fortify by attacking any substitute for the dollar.
Yeah, but folks are on the status quo only recognition mode, seems it's the same crap that preceded the fall of the soviet union. "Oh look there's a problem we can't solve because it will effect our paychecks and piss off the corporations, lets ignore it and move to the next one while the unsolved one compounds."
Yep, my bad, you are right. That was the exchange I got at a store up there for a pack of smokes while on vacation paying with US dollars, nice to have made out like a bandit at one point. Still even at that, it was 1.62CAN/1.00US, now it's 1.12CAN/1.00US.
Anyone seeing here why the TPP trade deal might not be such a good idea after all? Then again over the last 20 years you've all see the dollar that was with 5 Canadian to 1 US go 1 for 1. Your paying 5 bucks a gallon for gas and almost as much for milk. Warning signs? What warning signs..? We'll be having are dollar even with the peso in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, and the news will still be telling everyone that everything is okay...
There is also a particularly dangerous bill that is active now. Being that we recognize abuse of the national security infrastructure, anything that involved it should be scrutinized at great length. The TPP, or the Trans Pacific Partnership uses national security infrastructure as the original text is classified. We know so far that corporate greed will only care about their own bottom line and that has what has bankrupted this country into uncontrollable deficit spending, it would be safe to believe that this bill would further that particularly undesired effect.
I am glad to see the heat is now being properly directed as you all now understand what happened to your rights and freedoms and why. But you need to look specifically at the bills and exactly what political figures supported them, and the corporations that lobbied these politicians. Not all corporations are at fault, some just got taken for a ride, look for the ones that stood to gain the most, isolate the ones that took the lions share. Look back at see the ones that pushed for corporate lobbying to begin with, and demand election reform.
Look, the NSA is a department within our government, they are told what to do and held accountable if they do not do it. It is a management problem, unfortunately this seemingly corporate imposed martial law is a product of corporate lobbying. Admission of all of this is only the first step in solving the problem.

Isn't corporate lobbying and market capitalization grand? Events like this put the little guy out of business to the point of where they only have rocks to fight with. The downside of this stateside beyond stifling innovation is corporate fear of reprisal and loss of everything your forefathers bled for. This sort of thing is not just happening in the tech sector, it is happening across the board. So if your okay with it join the party, but you'll have to check your rights and freedoms at the door.
It is utterly amazing how many people find solace in the aspect of satisfying PCI guidelines particularly when that which makes the security industry being human makes security a moving target (on daily, not annual basis). Not to mention that with what the NSA did was render all the security upgrades everyone was forced to pay for worthless as the encryption was broken well before it was released to the market and packaged and put to work in new compiled libraries to run in payment card apps. I think its pretty safe to say that AES-256 is dead, RSA is dead, pc security is dead. Faced with a police state under which the value of our money is dictated on a whim and reinforced (at gunpoint) that it is actually worth something. Maybe we should trade marbles?
Hmmm, perhaps we should make bitcoin mining illegal, then perhaps there would be less initiative behind creating zombie army's of bot nets capable of such serious hash rates. It has really never been about the security of Americans, it is about money, and their own security within secrecy, it is about defeating the security of Americans, and leaving Americans pants around their ankles when it comes down to it. So the truth of it is upside down, what next? No one will ever be prosecuted for these actions, aside from the potential of inciting revolution.
I'm pretty sure they listened, just not in the way Snowden would have been comfortable with. They likely began researching Snowden's contacts and potential exit points, along with entire distant family. With understanding of today's technologies, it is unlikely that Snowden even today is 'alone', and if they truly wanted him turned off, it would have already happened.

Well at least someone stands up and takes credit for all that.

Maybe they just wanted a database that was more accurate than the riffraff online investigation sites offer, it is public record anyway.

Agreed, if I have to pull an all-nighter, then someone else could be subject to permanent damage.

Microsoft... Just like the NSA has management issues...

10 BILLION DOLLAR BUDGET, and they have a bag of Tommy 10 year old script kiddy tools to show for it...

So what about pineapple?
Hmmm. must really be 'small cheeked'. Is this what they mean about Americanized?
Penecillin=mozilla...
If they could just do something about that NSA backdoor.
If this gets around to my girlfriends I'll sue...
