I really don't know who does either. I'm sure it is more than I think, but it seems a strain to believe it could even be as high as 20%. Even 15% seems high.

Windows did a far better job --- even today --- than the Mac did in effective user interface. The API code in Windows is deep, complex and required a lot forethought, but the end result is simple and predictable.

There are a fair number of reasons to knock Windows, but the user interface in place since Windows 98 goes far beyond what any other operating system has to offer today on the API level.

Now Microsoft is destined to ruin this in the future, but dismissing the Windows user interface as a mere clone of what Apple had going on in the 1980s doesn't do justice to how nice Windows is on the user interface level. Linux still is way behind and OS X is nice but also way behind.

In 12 years or so, it will hard to take any ruling on human genome with a straight face as we will have ability to model it and work with it on our own computers in the near future. As a result I am largely uninterested in what the court decides. Law has to bow to the irresistible gravity of new informational norms. When those changes, it is up to our formal institutions to adapt.

In what kind of world is clicking a couple of buttons to customize the look a big deal? So we are now complaining about 3-4 mouse clicks being an unbearable inconvenience and a total outrage?

    I don't get it.

A Surface or Surface Pro is a 10" laptop.

Only a hardcore gamer would think like this.

And a perfect example of why not all opinions should be valued equally.

Hardcore gamers have a strong tendency to be lemmings and jump off cliffs and other idiocy the rest of us with brains should not wish to emulate.

These are ones that willing accept constant internet connection DRM to play a single player game and there isn't a bar of standards too low if "all their friends are doing it". Socrates said don't value general opinion, only value the opinion of the wise.

The OS X support for Qt is quite rubbish. Including that I know no one that can successfully compile Qt in a current version of XCode, nor have ever seen any working instructions for doing it.
