Yeah, you're not alone, they did it to me, too, a couple of years ago, got 'bout a hundred or so messages in one week. I don't really remember how I got off finally, I think there was something hidden someplace on their site, that I found after dissecting it for almost a day. Too bad I didn't keep a record.
Hmmm...if they do, it's kinda' strange they keep denying it with such force. Most of my emails went unanswered, and the two replies I got stated that the development of a Linux G2 player was completely stopped sometime in february.
Correct. I went back to 4.07 after trying 4.5, and, at least, now it crashes only ~once/week, as compared to every couple of hours. I'm hoping for Mozilla.
No way...RealNetworks representatives stated to me in 2 different messages that they've dropped all work on a Linux G2 player. Poor bastards. And the irony is they _did_ make a G2 producer.
Actually, I think the absence of a package manager is one of the strong points of Slackware. Don't get me wrong, of course I use pkgtool and the likes, but anything looking even remotely like the windblows registry makes me nauseous. And there are other reasons, too, for which I went back to good'ol'Slack after giving RedHat a ride...
Kinda' doubt it. Segfaults on Slackware 3.6, kernel 2.2.6, glibc-2.0.7 runtime.
Same in Slackware 3.6. Already sent a note.
Yup, same here, as soon as I run the downloaded install program, it segfaults on me. Running it w/ strace gives me a ton of blurb, ending in:
open("/etc/localtime", O_RDONLY) = 3
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) ---
+++ killed by SIGSEGV +++
Slackware 3.6, kernel 2.2.6, glibc2.0.7 runtime support.
Yeah - trust their "check for upgrade availability" button in rvplayer 5.0...

:)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Got my second 128M a couple of days ago. Guess why?
Yeah, they keep saying that on their web site...but when you ask them, they deny it.

...if I hadn't quit the computer at 6:55 precisely (I remember looking at the clock while closing my browser)...
