The previous post was a not so subtle attempt to see how vocal the MacBigots are currently on/.. The only people more zealous than Linux users are Mac users. My OS is bigger than yours...Blah blah blah.
BASH on OSX will be nice. Didn't realize it was coming. Sorry about that.
OSX is not currently shipping to the public. Yeah, NT5/Win2K runs now, but I consider both as vapor cause they are not released (officially).
And what about open source? MacOS also only runs limited platform/s. Jobs wants to be gates. Linus wants to be God. I vote for Linus, he seems like a nice benevolent guy.
I stand by the right click statement. I personally love having a wheeled mouse. 5 commands on my mouse for Quake. But I guess that would be too complicated for those accustomed to such an elegant OS as MacOS.
Quake and QII have always had hooks for all sorts of mods. And Q3 will be cross platform.
Why couldn't one just use this environment and add basic Desktop functionality? File browser as real objects... Web browser... Some sort of xterm...
Or maybe it is easier to start from scratch. Give me a browser, xterm, and quake and I can do 80-90% of all my computer needs.
I was just about to get a Voodoo3 cause 3dfx has given specs to a developer for 3D support.
Now that the TNT2 is open source, I am quuickly changing my mind.
M$ must be scared as more harware and software support keep appearing.
The last sentence of the first paragraph says:
"IBM also will package its other software with a version of Linux."
Does this mean what I think it means?

Check out the newsgroup 3dfx.glide.linux at news.3dfx.com or do a www.dejanes.com search for
any recent postngs from Daryll Strauss (The 3D code man)
The drivers are currently alpha, but some have them running on the Voodoo 3.
The 2D X server has been around for a while and works great, supposedly.

Are there and ARM based portables coming? Fast, cheap, linux, sounds good to me.
I think someone was working on a PDA, but I don't remember the link.

Sony has a cool looking HMD that is shipping for 800x600 resolutions. The XGA 1024x768 version should be comming soon. Integrated sound...
Only drawback- nearly $3K (and no tracking, as far as I can tell)
Americans have the right to have guns.
They do not have the right to shoot other people.
Personal freedom, as long as you don't muck with other's freedoms.
If 5-10% of the population carried a gun, we would be a much more polite country.
Damn non-Americans can't seem to see this.
Ed
Just because you don't find it funny doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed to be there.
I am glad I kept a copy. That was too easy to see the Lawyers coming to the poor artist's rescue.
So could I use tracing paper and trace the exact image and use that as parody? What is the limit.

Gotta sleep.
