I've ate a Slug by mistake once. it was *uck*&^% grotesque in the extreme. with or without an exoskeleton the reason we don't eat insects has less to do with culture and more to do with taste.
If the French have yet to find culinary wonder in the myriad of insect life that surrounds us then no one will.
