    There have been several posts now calling for spiral binding. In case publishers are reading this for ideas, I just want to make the point that there are still many of us who do not like spiral binding. I like something that stacks well or fits on a shelf well. Spiral-bound books usually do not.

    In my company we're already in the habit of calling pgsql "pigsqueal".



    I just wish they would have a "Name the RDBMS" contest. The name MySQL is terrible. Combine that with "PHP"... yuk.

    It's going to be really hard to make this not seem like an April Fool's joke, but I'm being serious.

    We are actually changing the rotation of the earth. Very very slightly. We've done this by building so many dams (and therefore, reservoirs) near the equator, while at the same time, melting the ice caps. Basically, we've removed a whole bunch of weight from the axis, and added a whole bunch of weight to the equator.

    Damn, it sounds like I'm kidding. But I'm not.
