  1. Mud client review page on What is a Good Free MUD Client? · · Score: 5, Informative

Why not look at our MUD Client reviews page?
Pick one that has lots of YESs in its line, like Crystal for example.

  2. An Poc ar Buile on Handmade Encryption Challenge · · Score: 4

The caption on the crest of arms is in Celtic. It appears to mean The Mad Billy Goat in English. It's perfectly possible that not only is the message encrypted, but the plaintext is in Celtic. According to the above link, An Poc ar Buile is the title of a song. As a guess, the plaintext could be the lyrics to this song.

  3. Couldn't this work two ways? on Postscript: Who Owns The Hellmouth Posts? · · Score: 1

Surely, if Andover can take comments owned by other people and publish them to make money (even though it's going to charity) couldn't we take Andover's content (i.e. Katz's Hellmouth articles) and publish it?

After all, Katz obviously wrote his articles for the benefit of the world. I believe that's the "spirit" of what he meant. :)

If GNU/Linux submitted itself for Unix(tm) certification, wouldn't it have to become GIU/Linux ? (GIU Is Unix) :-)

EDIT is definately better than notepad, but nothing (on a windows machine) comes close to EDLIN :)
Of course, any sane EDLIN user would install vim.

If you're looking for imaging devices that can look through clothes, you need to look at microwave cameras.
I don't know of any that are commercially available (or portable) and they're not exactly priced for the home market either.

Of course not, but that was the CIA, not the royals :)

  8. Re:PalmPilot & Infrared Port & MP3 & 486 DX2 66 on Lego Mindstorms Controlled by Pilot Via JINI · · Score: 1

I don't know about the IR stuff, but I'll see what I can do about your other points.

Harddrive: A machine of that age should have support LBA (aka translating BIOS), check your CMOS settings to be sure, so there isn't a limit on the hard drive size you can put in it.

CLI MP3 player: Personally I swear by mpg123. The newer versions have jukebox support so they can be controlled from an external program (i.e. a perl script listening on your IR port)

You may find problems with your machine not being able to play high bitrate MP3s without jumping. I had a 486 DX4/120 and that could cope with 128Kbps (so long as i didn't want to use it for anything else at the same time :) but jumped on 192. But YMMV.

This would make a good topic for an Ask Slashdot (if it hasn't already been done).
