I don't believe those are legal (at least I doubt they've gotten permission from CC). When you view the eps, there's a little "Add Link" option:

Help us to keep the episodes online by adding a link!
If you found this South Park episode somewhere on the internet (for example: megavideo.com, myspacetv.com etc.) you can submit the link/url of that video to us. The submitted links/url will be checked by us before adding them to the database.

Seems to me they are just aggregating links from around the net, just like many other non-sanctioned TV show site (like familyguyx.net, as an example).

The South Park STUDIO vids are often higher quality, as far as I've seen. The drawback over South Park ZONE is that you have to view 3 (short) advertisements, and I couldn't get mine to go completely full screen (which I like).

I'm not. The U.S. public has great fear, which accounts for the first several characteristics you mentioned. The public also loves to buy things that it cannot afford. As far as corruption, it usually comes down to voting for one corrupt party versus another, and a large portion of the population will do whatever their pastor tells them to do.

Although, it does sound a little like paying off the mafia for "protection", against things like your store mysteriously burning to the ground or your customers hastled randomly.

I find that if I bookmark it, it disappears into the oblivion that is my endless bookmark list, so I prefer to leave the instance open (forcing me to remember to deal with it).
