The only way a law would ever stop spam is if it is legally enforceable across the entire globe. That is more offensive than spam, and certainly scarier.
This reminds me of a good quote, "Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must be first overcome. -- Dr. Johnson" Sometimes, you just have to take a chance. You can not wait for the right time, you have to make now the right time. Once you understand that, the rest is easy. You may have to sacrifice time, money, comfort, and yes, even financial security(As if you have that now! You're just kidding yourself!). Sure the risks are high, but the rewards are higher still. The single most profound thing about this I ever heard came from 3rd Rock. "People trade their existence for money," followed later by "My life is worth more than minimum wage and the occaisonal piece of pie." That pretty much sums it up.
So, let me get this straight. If I do not access my DSL/Cablemodem and change the settings, it's my fault for having a unsecure system. Yet, if I do access my DSL/Cablemodem and change the settings, I can expect the FBI to come barreling through my front door with guns drawn?
Nice.
I remember when society used to have common sense. I miss those days.
So does this mean Monsanto could simply load a plane with their patented seed, spread it all over the country side, and then simply wait until it grows and sue everybody?

...damned if we don't!

Why not claim immunity from the violation as by using AIMster as a parody?
