  1. Invasion of privacy on UK Government Expands Spying Powers · · Score: 1

Is one thing but if you've nothing to hide then this shouldn't cause any concern. After all, nobody's doing anything they wouldn't mind the government knowing about? :-)

  2. About the author on Is IBM on a Strategic Path to Control Java? · · Score: 3, Informative

I thought that I recalled the name David Berlind from somewhere. It was an article I read over at The Register about one of the most clueless half-witted tech articles ever written. The register article is here and the original ZDNet article is here. Both make for very amusing reading.

  3. Who's driving this? on EPIC Urges State AGs to Pursue Microsoft Passport · · Score: 1

Who exactly is the driving force behind EPIC? It would appear at first sight that this is driven slightly by the Beast of Redmond. Who else would push passport (and at the same time Hailstorm/.NET/all your base/etc) at high ranking public officials?

What's the motivation behind this? I suppose we're asked to believe that if it's good enough for the attorney general, then it's OK for me (glossing over the substantial evidence that passport is an insecure and bug-ridden system).

Just wait for the 10.1 update. All reports indicate that this should be one hell of a speed bump.

Also, now that RAM is so cheap, load up with that. OSX is RAM hungry.
