What you are describing as a "MAP" sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor is actually a Mass Air Flow sensor. These two sensors are always confused and could not be any more different. MAP sensors simply measure ambient barometric pressure, by the way of the engine vaccum. And mass air flow sensors pass a current through a wire that is hung in the air stream going into the intake, and measure the time it takes to heat the wire to a certain pont, thus judging the volume of air passing by.
for cosmonauts to be able to talk via radio(usually Amateur Radio, better known as Ham Radio) to regular persons on the ground??? Our astronauts do that quite often, and it's revered as very prestigous to be able to talk to an astronaut via radio. Nothing silly about that at all. Those cosmonauts probably got extremely lonely up there orbiting the planet and should and were able to do things like this. Way to go Taco.
Many people share large numbers of songs on Napster, and to have to go in and re-name(or misspell) 100 or more files is a huge hassle, if you want to still be able to share them. But either way I think this is a moot effort to curb sharing of copyrighted files....everyone start re-naming!!
Mars WAS JUST LIKE THE EARTH a very long time ago; life in this solar system originated on MARS and was carried here to this planet my meteorites just like this one being studied. In a few more years it will all be much clearer.
Newton's mechanics DO work in the real world!!! This is an all-too-common misconception. They only break down at speeds close to that of light. (In which case Einstein's laws apply.) I don't think you'll be breaking a rack at a speed near 186,000 miles/sec anytime soon!:P
Here at the University of Pittsburgh, students can become "Residential Consultants(ResCons as we call them)," and in exchange for helping other students that live in residence halls with getting set up on our network, and with any PC problem in general, the ResCons are awarded full room and board for the academic year that they serve as a ResCon.
This is a major software engineering challenge, let alone the usual hurdles with trying to agree on standards in this business, but none-the-less very intriguing to me and probably lots of my other nerdy counterparts.
I can't believe we're comparing cellular phones to the long and great radio hobby tradition better known as "Ham" radio. I've been a Ham for quite a while now, and this crap is apples to oranges. Cell phones operate generally with 0.8 watts output at around 830mgz. This is a minute power amount, and if people would stop talking sooooo much on their phones, the question of cancer would not exist. Cell phones cause cancer about as much as living under the e/m field of powerlines, or living les than 20 miles(which we ALL do) from commercial radio stations with 50,000 watts(400,000 watts effective radiated power!) pumping day and night. Sure, with distance the field strength falls off very quickly, but its about the same radiation you're getting from cell phones and commercial transmitters. As far as this idiot saying there should bo no licensing for amateur radio, you're crazy! That is what makes ham radio a viable hobby, and keeps some order...look what happened to the 11m band('CB' for you invalids)!!!
I don't think this guy is worthy to be surfing/. let alone try to overclock a damn MAC....ahhh physics, my first love......even if the units are not SI.
