There was that Rugrats episode where they went to see the ice musical Reptar On ice. Who can forget those songs? "Reptar, Reptar, gotta find that Reptar..."
I've got a 30gb one, and there's only 3gb free. Less than 1/4 of my cd collection fits on this, although admittedly, enough of it that I actually want/need to carry around with me does that it's not an issue. Also, lots of dj sets at an hour+ a pop start eating up space...
check out readerware. it does all of this for you: you scan in your cd's, books, or dvd's, and it goes to amazon, tower, etc. to pull up the relevant info and populate your database for you. it can decode and use cuecats, as well. i wouldn't have been able to catalogue my 1500+ cd's without it!
In fact, Network Appliance already makes a couple of large scale "NearStore" devices which use ATA drives for the express purpose of short-term backup and archival. You can use the data online (albeit with a little less performance than a normal filer) or for quick backups, and then from there you can back *that* up to tape if necessary, or use their data replication tools to deliver it offsite to other filers, etc.

man, why would you pay $100 for a 3.5 dBi antenna when you can get a 5 dBi antenna for $20 here? ok, so i understand cool matching looks, but there's a limit, especially when you can get so much more performance for less...
it's valid nationwide. there was a article about it in the nytimes. i went and did this on tuesday out here in san francisco. after the ordeal, they give you a certificate with a code and a phone number to call to have the dvd sent to you.
Well, there's no way around this, is there? The whole thing stopping people from hacking a 20GB hard drive into the existing ipods is that the 20GB drive is a little thicker. The thickness coming from the added platter, thus also causing more weight.
The Oxygen network already does this. They have a constant banner on the bottom much like an ESPN2 sports ticker, but they use it to give trivia, dumb comments, and information about whatever you're watching, sort of like a pop-up video banner. And then when commercials come in, they actually use that space to tie into certain commercial spots, like laundry detergent or whatever.
Sometimes useful while watching Xena, but otherwise mostly annoying.

Dammit. Me too. Windows XP won't run on my IBM PC XT. What the hell? They're both 'X' something, right?

If you take the red pill, then you wake up in goo, and realize that you've been typing on a Tandy Model 100.

Now if they would only release a book on how to use Gir...
"I love you, piggy!"
