and we're 6 months into the PS2's life, and I still don't see mod chips or pirate games for that.
Then you just haven't paid much attention, I guess... I've seen mod chip ads and isoz floating around from day one of its Jap launch (well, nearly). As long as the games don't use the DVD format you should be able to get whatever game you'd like.
Read some history. First, you really believe anyone chooses their family name at will? Did you choose your own? Then, the names you mention stem from medieval times when jews were denied access to most professions apart from finance and jewelry, so naturally you'll end up with a larger percentage of persons of mosaic ancestry in those branches. But I won't get into any discussion about that because an antisemite will find a place for any argument within his irrational rant, paranoid as it is. The second fact that you don't seem to be aware of is the nazis' renaming of large amounts of people following the execution of the racist Nuremberg laws, assigning them more 'jewish sounding' family and also first names like Israel and Sarah in order to make them easily recognizable at a glance at their papers. And a lot of those people wouldn't have thought of themselves as being jewish in any respect before that point in time.
Please consider the appropriate sequence: 1. research, 2. think, 3. post. Thank you.
Correct me please, but weren't "you" attacking Belgrade in defense of the volkish Albanians back then and not Kosovo? Maybe you better spend as much attention to semantics as you do to grammar...
Otto Schily and left-winged, LOL (well, I would be if it weren't that bitter!). He's almost as right-winged as you are, you dim-witted jerk. Ask any refugee that's been resent at his command. "HH!"? You're hailing a corpse? Suits you well.
Yeah, like what? 'Dachau - I've been there!' stickers and mugs? Does denying a horrendous crime make life any easier for you? But then, there's a whole industry of holocaust-denial based around the works of David Irving and Aaron Finkelstein nowadays...
I haven't seen Real Genius, but you got a point. Of course neither Matrix nor eXistenZ are about how 'real world' haxorz or game coders are working, but I'd still say hacking is what M. is all about, the last scene has Neo basically getting root access. It might be a more abstract and over-stylized depiction, but it's still the main plot, don't you think?
To say the Matrix is about hackers is as realistic as saying 'eXistance' is about video game programmers.
eXistenZ is about video game programmers, whether you like Cronenberg's depiction or not, and please correct me, but The Matrix actually is a heap of code and the protagonists of the movie in fact do change part of that code without written consent of its authors/administrators, so what sets 'em apart from being hackers in your view is their rejection of using keyboards and terminals to achieve their goals? I don't think that's enough. I mean if you'd say 'Hey come on, The Matrix is a religious movie after all, so the hacking stuff is not what it's actually centered around.' we'd have something to argue about, but you haven't...
<BLOCKQUOTE> It lets you know early on that it won't be making a bit of sense, then repeatedly tries to convince you that the nonsense is actually deep and meaningful. Dead on. That's The Matrix in a nutshell.</BLOCKQUOTE><br>
I don't disagree on the other points you're making, but this one is simply ignorant: anyone who's read Marx' Capital or some Adorno will have noticed an accurate allegory of modern capitalist society (TM) and the typical mindset of its inhabitants within The Matrix. If you're more with the rastafarian way you're entitled to call it Babylon, just wait until they bring in Zion full scale.;o) The rest of the mish-mash of counter-culture (White Rabbit!! Feed your head!!!) is at least done quite entertainingly.
Altough, watching Dark City for the first time last week actually made me wonder....
LOL. Fair points, and even worse: has anyone ever seen a toilet in the series? I mean, there could be lots of 'em on other levels, but there surely ain't none anywhere around the bridges of the ships I've seen. Must be interesting having to use the elevator every time you feel the urge...
Ally McBeal starts to look like real life compared to that. Anyway, I'm all in for more Trek, not that I'm misunderstood.
plus, the defiant was said to be an instable construction, that was why it remained a prototype (or two resp. three). only Chief O'Brien's magical hands made it halfway functionable, IIRC.
Well? As opposed to giving it to John Travolta or Keanu Reaves? LOL. And why not, anyway, there's more modes of artistical presentation than Soviet Realism. Oops...
But realistic CGI characters are not that far from now, you're right. Go and check finalfantasy.com for an upcoming movie (summer 2001!), that will take significant steps towards that goal.
LOL. Yeah, why not even Van Damme or Steven 'Seagull' Segal? As 'The Two' mabbe... Make Matrix2 a slapstick episode and Matrix3 an ultra-violent slasher, sorry: decoder. Now that would be fun!
waah, believe me, you're better off NOT understanding some of the dialogue... go watch the original version without subtitles, and simply enjoy! you'll get the story nonwithstanding, well all-right, you're gonna miss some of the jokes, but that's no big deal.;o)

Come again? Misplaced your glasses or something?

Zimmerman(n) is a very common name in Germany and has no 'jewish' connotations, as you're eager to imply.
boycuts? that's just barbaric! anyway: in half or in quarters?

Hm, I'm curious why my post mentioning anti-semitic rants in DER SPIEGEL was deleted. What the ..?

I have to agree. have you seen her in 'cube'? astonishing.
whereas the former Dax has found her dream role playing the bartender in Becker, as I have just noticed. bwahahaha!
