Then you just haven't paid much attention, I guess... I've seen mod chip ads and isoz floating around from day one of its Jap launch (well, nearly). As long as the games don't use the DVD format you should be able to get whatever game you'd like.

Read some history. First, you really believe anyone chooses their family name at will? Did you choose your own? Then, the names you mention stem from medieval times when jews were denied access to most professions apart from finance and jewelry, so naturally you'll end up with a larger percentage of persons of mosaic ancestry in those branches. But I won't get into any discussion about that because an antisemite will find a place for any argument within his irrational rant, paranoid as it is. The second fact that you don't seem to be aware of is the nazis' renaming of large amounts of people following the execution of the racist Nuremberg laws, assigning them more 'jewish sounding' family and also first names like Israel and Sarah in order to make them easily recognizable at a glance at their papers. And a lot of those people wouldn't have thought of themselves as being jewish in any respect before that point in time.

Please consider the appropriate sequence: 1. research, 2. think, 3. post. Thank you.

I haven't seen Real Genius, but you got a point. Of course neither Matrix nor eXistenZ are about how 'real world' haxorz or game coders are working, but I'd still say hacking is what M. is all about, the last scene has Neo basically getting root access. It might be a more abstract and over-stylized depiction, but it's still the main plot, don't you think?

To say the Matrix is about hackers is as realistic as saying 'eXistance' is about video game programmers.

eXistenZ is about video game programmers, whether you like Cronenberg's depiction or not, and please correct me, but The Matrix actually is a heap of code and the protagonists of the movie in fact do change part of that code without written consent of its authors/administrators, so what sets 'em apart from being hackers in your view is their rejection of using keyboards and terminals to achieve their goals? I don't think that's enough. I mean if you'd say 'Hey come on, The Matrix is a religious movie after all, so the hacking stuff is not what it's actually centered around.' we'd have something to argue about, but you haven't...

I don't disagree on the other points you're making, but this one is simply ignorant: anyone who's read Marx' Capital or some Adorno will have noticed an accurate allegory of modern capitalist society (TM) and the typical mindset of its inhabitants within The Matrix. If you're more with the rastafarian way you're entitled to call it Babylon, just wait until they bring in Zion full scale. ;o) The rest of the mish-mash of counter-culture (White Rabbit!!
