    The video shows several take downs of a DJI, and guys claim the bird claws are rugged enough to handle that.
    I would get worried about the birds if they would do this on a heavy multicopter with carbon props. The interview mentions that they are looking into extra protection for the claws.

    Octocopters are much harder to shoot down because of their redundancy. You can lose two motors and still fly decently.

    google also uses a lot of one-character variable names in their javascript. Maybe at their scale, they do care about saving a few characters on each page they serve.

    That sounds familiar. I don't put tracking on those items, but try to help with the hiding. That way I can find those items again.

    As for tracking a demented person: that can only be done without the person knowing, if that is legal. That means that batteries must last a long time; frequent charging would attract attention and resistance quite soon.

    The dutch house of commons, or whatever it should be called in english, is actually a bit short on experience. At the last elections, the average experience of the new house was a mere 3.8 years!

    People want a corporate scapegoat, because that is where the money is. If the number of deaths really goes down, car insurance will shift from the individual to the car maker, and money will drive the change.

    Registering a dog through its DNA may be similar to registering a weapon. The article is not clear if all dogs are registered, or just the status dogs.

    Dutch too here... but feeling that German should be counted in as well. It is a big economy producing a lot of talented people.

    And after the crisis we'll see how the German way of thinking holds up to the Anglo Saxon and Eastern ways of thinking.

    it would be a shame if MS stopped ESP for two reasons: their presence has driven down prices, and they provide a fair amount of content.

    There are several alternatives though, such as x-plane, cryengine, vbs2, delta3d (open source), or the more expensive Vega Prime.

    Tomtom High Definition maps dutch traffics jams on Vodafone location data. So yeah, my guess too would be the land of the free below sea level.

    Actually, I have no strong preference for any particular "standard". It just bugs me that there are so many to choose from.

    PAL sucks a little less than NTSC in terms of resolution; I would happily switch to NTSC if it could become the only format in the world. 1080 would of course be better.

    one time zone? That would be fun, having the US switch to GMT. While you're at it, please also switch to the metric system, 240V, PAL and a dozen other "standards". Maybe I'll then switch to english and wear tennis shoes.

    I do not know about France, but in The Netherlands you are not allowed to compare your product to competing products in commercials.
    We only get comparisons with the infamous brand X.

    The ISS is what it's name says, an international space station. Russia is doing the lifting now. US may be more sophisticated, but Russia seems more robust.

    This is a good car if you live in a crowed city. Over here are lots of these little cars, and each time their acceleration surprises me.

    Advantages:

    Little parking space required

    Coolness of especially the cabrio version

    Price and costs of ownership

    Disadvantages:

    Speed limit of 140 km/h (although less speeding tickets is ok)

    Little storage space
