This is clearly an example of some hyper-patriot using buzzwords and buzzconcepts to expand his country's control over scant international resources (intelligence analyses) without really understanding the international environment, or indeed without really understanding the terms he's using. Open source? Not likely. Open (to him) intelligence sources, closed (to everyone else) information.
This is why US intelligence gathering has failed, obviously it is a lot easier to penetrate the US with guerrilla tactics then it is for the US to penetrate 3rd world countries with billion dollar budgets.
It was "script kiddies"? Everyone seems quick to blame some juvenile delinquents but many people can/will/do use DoS attacks as a effective form of assult not just sub7 IRC brats, what if it was a local ISP rival? What if it was a disgruntled ex-employee? Also like others have suggested what if they just used the 'hack attack' as a way to cover up a business problem? I think people are quick to dump it on "script kiddies" and give them too much credit! In all reality these children are not that powerful and are more of a nuisance then a real threat.
I will too miss SNK! Ikari Warriors is one of my earliest memories of videogames! then there is the Samurai Showdown series which is a classic! and they just released Metal Slug 3!!! this is a sad day!
