Reuters is just wrong to call it " shot down a Russian Sukhoi SU-24 fighter". SU-24 is relatively old bomber, not a fighter, and that is why Turkish F-16s could down it relatively easy. I doubt they could do the same with modern Sukhoi fighters, such as SU-35.
