I found this picture a long time ago and found it humorous. I saved it to my hard drive and largely forgot about it until now. I've posted it on my website http://www.sellingmysoul.com. I apologise for the crappy layout, but I just modified the site in a hurry. If you want to avoid the html all together, the standalone image is at http://expert.cc.purdue.edu/~budzinsk/macq.jpg. I take no credit for making this MacQuarium. I just found the image a long time ago. Enjoy.
I can't read the article, as the site is slashdotted. Does anyone know how this will work? Last time I checked, PC drives cannot read/write the old C64 disks. I beleive it had something to do with hard/soft sectoring or something along those lines... Is the code going to be distributed as a high quality MP3 to be recorded onto a cassette? Or do you have to manually type it in? Or are they *selling* copies of the browser? This sounds like it could be loads of fun with my Commodore. BTW, my C64 is beige and looks nothing like all the other ones I see in pictures.... Anyone know what's up? It's not a C128 or anything. It's just a different looking C64. It was a great computer in its day. Now its day is returning.
I may be a bit off topic, but I beleive the reason for the lack of mic inputs is that most anything that you'd want to record would be from a higher-quality source. And if you're recording your own music, it's a fair assumption that you'd be wired through a mixer and an amp, so you'd use the RCA input to tape. If the tape recorder only had digital in, it would be a different matter, but I've never heard of such a thing. The only point of a mic input would be to record your own voice, which would be kind of strange for a compilation tape.
Does anyone remember / has anyone heard of the Excelsior Campaign? It's basically a fan based movement to make Series V a series based around Sulu. I met George Takei about a year ago and he was very enthusiastic about it. However, I haven't heard a peep about it lately. Hope it's not dead.
Of course he doesn't live in Maine. He's dead ;)

Silly bastard When he dies, just cut him open and count the dark rings. Easy.
