there is an Ogg Vorbis server on the net. i don't remember the address, but if you look at any server list in gnapster, winmx, bearshare, etc it will most likely be there.
Although I missed the actual show, I am sure this is just a rehash of a transcript from that MTV show on hacking. The kid in this one seems to be just as uber cool. I wish I stilled used the term "phishing." I remember when I had AOL and everyone used those stupid scripts. It is amzing that they still work. Which is to say, that perhaps they don't.
As far as I am concerned, there is either a really creative reporter or a creative script kiddie behind this.
If this sort of "revolution" and what not does take place then imagine what ub3r hax0rs could do with it. In the eighties when kids wanted to call up a BBS and not pay for it, they beige boxed. So thinking about this as I write, it'd be interesting to see what precautions would be taken to avoid such a thing from happening.
all a person would need is some neato modified ethernet cable with alligator clips!! (then again my lack of knowledge in networking and stuff tells me that we wouldn't need that much.)
As i keep thinking about this whole thing, who would provide this ethernet service? Would it be bell/verizon or would a new Telco like machine crop up and give birth to a new bunch of blue boxing phreaks of the ethernet world?
Maybe I should just shut up, eh?

Just because it's a free market, does not make what microsoft does legal. In fact, if anything, that makes a lot of what they do illegal. (Remember there are still some regulations they must follow.)
Call me paranoid, but i don't like the idea of another microsoft product becomming the mainstream for a majority of people using a computer or playing video games.
Consider a generation from now. What if xbox is microsoft's way of getting in? Now they have other consoles, and much like with windows, there isn't a need to make a good product because it IS the product to own.
i don't think that looking for a book would be better by using a downloading system like napster. part of the fun in looking for out of print books is the hunt. i still feel the same way when i scour over used cds. personally, i like to look for things in the meat world on ocasion. it feels good to have a hard copy of something.
that's just me.
beware all! it smells like the sequel to an antitrust-esque movie. all 1337 kernel hax0rs with boyishly good looks should watch out for bill gates. he is watching you!!!!
i just got done watching the show and i like it. while i do agree that the computer stuff was fudged, it was still amusing. i think it is just amusing that all those hackers hang out in some realistic shooting gallery with what seems to be live ammunition.
that and the fact that lee harvey oswold is a hot hax0r chick.
hehehe.
peace.

Nintendo could be the next Apple.
Then again, there's always PSX.
